Got refused and they have supplied the appeal form.

you mean to say, there is no option to apply later on as they do in out-country settlement visa (which they apply after the main applicant's ILR is issued)?

I've applied for Tier2 dependent visa to my wife and kids and the embassy(India) called and asked the employer(UK) to authenticate the employment letter. They have called as well as emailed my employer. Is this a normal procedure they do?
This is not the first time they are coming to UK, they have been in dependent before and visiting few times as well without any trouble.
