Re: Confirmation we can now apply

Thank you very much for your swift reply. Yes she did. Things have changed so much over the last few years that we just want to get her ILR approved now before things change again. Even though it will cost about an additional £2300 having not long ago paid that for the 2 year extension it'll be ...

Confirmation we can now apply

My wife and I have been applying for her to stay here since we got married in 2011. Twice in that time we've had to apply for a 2 year extension (as opposed to ILR) as the first time she hadn't passed her knowledge of life in the UK test in time, and the last time as her English language exam was no ...

Re: English language requirement not from approved provider

Not everyone pays a good deed forward, far from it. You are doing this because you're a wonderful person. I hope my children grow up to have the same compassion as you do

Re: English language requirement not from approved provider

Thank you so much. I'm almost crying here, this is destroying me. I actually wonder if the Home office are actually pre-empting this outcome, as they've actually requested some (what I thought was bizzare additional information) such as our children's birth certificates and a letter from their ...

Re: English language requirement not from approved provider

Thanks. And I assume that by requesting the application is varied to FLR(FP) Parent route she would be able to stay for approximately 2 years?

Re: English language requirement not from approved provider

Ok thanks.

So in all likelihood:

My wifes ILR will be refused.

My wife will be allowed to stay here with myself and our kids while she takes a new English language test and then we again apply

Does that sound about right?

Re: English language requirement not from approved provider

Just to add as well that the reason we thought we were ok with this pass is due to the below (taken from https://www.gov.uk/english-language/approved-english-language-qualifications ) Applying for citizenship You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if you’re applying for citizenship and i ...

Re: English language requirement not from approved provider

Thanks to those of you who have taken the time to reply. What I can gather from the responses is: Unless they accept that at the previous time (Sept 2014) that we were able to apply for ILR my wife's English pass was deemed legitimate and therefore can be considered as part of this application, they ...

Re: English language requirement not from approved provider

Thanks. This has been more than 5 years of continuous stress and worry to us, don't know how much more we can take. We got married almost 6 years back, have lived as man and wife here for 5 years, had 2 children here and we're still fighting and paying lots of money to be here. I just feel like ...

Re: English language requirement not from approved provider

I'm British born and bred as are my children. My wife was eligible to apply for ILR 2 years ago but twice scored 17 of 24 for the UK in the Life Test so we had to apply for a 2 year extension. A few months later she passed the Life in the UK test. We knew we had ages to apply so didn't rush to apply ...

Re: English language requirement not from approved provider

Thanks.

Having to re-pay the whole fee again will be a real pain, but obviously worth it if it ultimately keeps my wife in the country. Our absolute nightmare scenario is that she is deported - is that likely to happen or will we simply be made to re-apply?

Re: English language requirement not from approved provider

We have to respond within 14 days so taking an alternative test is going to be out of the question.

If they turn down our ILR where does that leave us, bearing in mind that her 2 year spouse visa will have expired by then?

Re: English language requirement not from approved provider

Thanks, but where does this leave us now.

We have a 3 and a 5 year old and my wife has lived here for 5 years now. We can't sit another exam as part of this application. What happens now?

English language requirement not from approved provider

Several months ago we applied for my wife's ILR. We have previously provided a B1 pass Cambridge Language Assessment original certifcate from a provider in Swansea that we used for her first 2 years here on a Spouse visa. However, the Home office have just written to us the following: 'The Cambridge ...

Leaving UK on a Visa Extension

Hi, My question is - can you leave the UK and return without problems if you only have a temporary visa? My wife has lived here with me now in the UK for 2 and a half years. She passed the Englisgh B1 exam, but despite a few attempts has not been able to pass the Life in th UK test - we are now in a ...

gareth79_cardiff I saw yours previously posts. Have applied again or you appealed? Another thing is I can see it took exactly one month to actually get an email confirming that process of your application had started. But then was pretty quick to get the confirmation. The email you got on 05/06/12 ...

Re: gareth79_cardiff

Hi gareth79_cardiff. Congratulations on your successful visa application. :o I also made my application for spouse visa in Rio. Could you please post your timeline? Believe Lucapooka as he understands well these matters in Rio. Ok this is the timeline for this application: We applied on the 5/05/12 ...

It is the word 'application' that makes it ambiguous. Why? It was, after all, an application rather than a game of tennis or anything else. Your visa application has been issued. You applied for a visa and it has been issued. Frankly, I'm amazed that you are having difficulty but that's not ...

I will also post on here the outcome as I'm sure there will be others like me who receive this e-mail in future and be extremely anxious to know what it means Perhaps indeed there are others who think your visa has been issued is an ambiguous statement! It is the word 'application' that makes it ...

I am intimately familiar with the visa process in Rio and can assure you that the visa has been issued. When she opens her passport it will have a visa vignette pasted onto one of the pages. There may be other paperwork relating to UK matters but these days, to save paper, they tend to send this ...

Your visa application has been processed is the neutral version of the same email that sent to people. They never issue emails saying application have been refused. You have got your your visa! Oh God I don't want to bring myself to believe it. We have a young son and we have been through absolute ...

Re: My wife just had the following e-mail

Your Visa Application at Rio de Janeiro has been issued . Does this mean our visa has been issued? No I know, the word that worries me is 'application'. I've googled the wording of this e-mail and it appears other people have had the same e-mail, but none of them have come back onto the various ...
