Received biometric card today valid until 31-12-2024 which I suppose is some sort of EU regulation or changes in technology by them on enquiring I found out they are going to replace these cards free of charge if your card is less than 10 years old.

The form asks for date you entered on which this application is based i entered date I entered UK rather than date I was given Tier 1

Thank you Yes I guess I was one of the first applicants as form was made available on 17 as far as I know because I had checked 16th night and prepared postal application but changed mind and applied online next day when I noticed it was available online. I remember your case particularly becoz my timeline was same. I am surprised how you still didn't get any response. But the fact that many visas are approved after interview also so I think just wait and be positive if your paperwork was fine, sooner or later you will get it.

It will certainly affect the employment bit for the purpose of extension, but not straight away, only once rules change and new guidance are published by the HO.
