You can take your baby along with you but he/she wont be able to enter the UK unless he/she has vaild visa or british passport... that is exactly what I did and it was ok.

As a bonus waiting until the last day meant that when I got my BRP it was dated from the date they processed the application effectivly giving me and extra three months!

The problem will be when the next visa application is made by the same applicant. The entry/exit date stamps on the passport will show that the applicant did overstay on his/her last visit. but that is my point - I never get a stamp when I leave the UK .... so how will they know when somebody leave...

I guess it comes down to travel requirements ..... like I said in hindsight I probably would of paid the extra for the PEO to reduce the stress of our up and coming honeymoon .... last thing I would want is to be married and have plane tickets in hand and no passport .... on the other hand accepting...
