If you have time before your application, you should definitely get the missing amount paid AND reflected in your bank statement and salary slip or whatever you provide as evidence of income. It does not matter that under your contract you are entitled to 35K, all that matters is that you receive 35...

It's not about proportionate entitlement, it's about being able to rely on the safety net to which you contributed. Anyway I'd rather move countries to find a job, which is what I did in the past, than rely on benefits, but I understand how other people feel. It would probably not be such a big issu...

Indeed, my job requires very specific skills, qualifications and experience. This has been the case for my previous employers here and another country with much tougher immigration system. As for the benefits system, I suppose people expect a fair correlation between paying NI and benefiting from it...

I'm afraid Citigirl you are bang out of line here. Frustration from 130 days of not being able to see my family, not being able to go on a proper holiday, miserable summer etc. And all for being a law abiding legal immigrant not entitled to benefits, paying taxes and the extortionate fee on top of ...

are you suggesting that there are no highly skilled settled/British workers on benefits and looking for work? Apparently not for my particular job. Otherwise my employer would have hired someone locally rather than have me relocate from another country. They had spent a long time looking. And I kno...

I intend to complain very loudly. I hope I will be joined by some of you. I will join you as well. I do think it's worth trying the media first as the fastest and cheapest way to give them some grief. There is plenty of sentiment out there for preserving the UK as open for business, and that includ...

I have tried to offer practical advice but you are too busy whining and disagreeing for the sake of it. My post above is clearly sarcastic. I don't work for the ukba but if you want to think i do because i am not agreeing with everything you say that's up to you. Your practical advice is to complai...

I bet that they will still revert me to the part saying you cannot say anyting until six months have elapsed.

It does look like you work for the UKBA, so if you try to discourage us from going to the media, maybe it is the way to go!

Why would you lose your job. If you make an in time application your leave is treated as continuing and you therefore continue to have the right to work. If your employer dismisses you due to your extension application taking too long then its your employer you should sue. How about suing UKBA for ...

In addition, they also misrepresent by posting the processing standard which runs from the biometrics submission whereas we cannot submit without them issuing an invitation letter. Which took nine weeks in my case.

Totally! This must be why the UKBA categorise Tier 1 as "high value migrants". Regrettably, it does not mean that they treat us accordingly.

Makes one suspect that this is a way of reducing the immigration numbers. On top of the UKBA's general incompetence, staff shortages and disregard for law-abiding and tax-paying residents. I only had to cancel a long awaited holiday and could not go and see my family or invite them over here during ...

No problem applying few days before expiry of visa. But new rule says you cant extend ur stay after expiry by 28 days. Surely it does not concern those who applied for extension before their current visa expired? In such case, their immigration status is extended while their application is being co...
