You select "Other" for a child born abroad.
Thanks. So, I should definitely select - 'Other - apply at the discretion of the Home Secretary'.

Very kind of you t help and advise.

Also double checking that MN1 is the only form that may fit the circumstances, correct?

Re: PBS Dependent (Child) ILR -> Citizenship

Thanks. I thought he needed to wait the 5 years and complete his own timelines.

Now that I am looking at the eligibility question for MN1 for the online form - I am not sure which option would best suit for his eligibility?

PBS Dependent (Child) ILR -> Citizenship

Hi, I have a child who was my PBS Dependent while I was on Tier 2. Subsequently, I got my ILR and my British Citizenship. My wife also got her ILR and then Citizenship. My child completed his 5 years and in December of 2020 was granted ILR. Now that he has completed his naturalisation period, I woul...

1. Either my wife and my son both apply for ILR at the same time using the PBS dependent 5-year category OR
2. My wife gets her ILR now using the 10 year LR and then once she has ILR my son can apply on his own.
Yes.
Thank you very much, I appreciate your patience.

Re: Eligibility to apply for ILR or British Registration

Yes, likely on Set(O) once your spouse has ILR. Set F might be easier though. Sorry to be pushing back but I am not sure why my wife needs a ILR. Doesn't my son as PBS on his own qualify for ILR given that he has spent 5 year? Your son will not qualify for ILR via PBS Dependent visa if your wife do...

Re: Eligibility to apply for ILR or British Registration

Thanks for your reply, maybe I confused the situation by not being clear. I was in Tier 2 General for over 5 years. I applied for ILR based on completion of 5 years on my Tier 2. As my son was my PBS dependent and I settled via the 5 year route, is he also not entitled to settle on PBS under the 5 y...

Re: Eligibility to apply for ILR or British Registration

1. What is the route for settlement for my son? Does he need an ILR before registering as a British Citizen? Yes, he needs ILR. Apply on form SET F once your wife has ILR granted. 2. If so, does he qualify for ILR at the 5 years mark, regardless of the fact that he was initially dependent on his mo...

Eligibility to apply for ILR or British Registration

Hi Guys, My son was born in April 2014 outside the UK. At that point in time, both his mother and I were on Tier2-General visas. Following his birth, we got him a PBS dependent visa before he travelled to the UK at the end of May 2014. For that PBS dependent application, we provided his mother detai...

Re: AN1 Application - Documents List

Regarding criminal convictions, the guidance says that I should include driving offences. I got a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) from the police for going through a red light in July 2010. I also have a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) from the Council for taking a right turn where I shouldn't have in 2016. ...

Hi, A friend of mine has been living in the UK for the past 5 years and now wants to apply for PR. She is now afraid that her application might get rejected because or this as there are ...

Just another quick on. Does my wife need to meet any English Language Requirements if she is extending her Tier 2 Dependent Visa?

Re: Tier 2 PBS Dependent Query

You are required to provide evidence of subsisting marriage in the form of cohabitation documents either in joint names or individual names to the same address. Hi, I am wondering if there are any guidelines surrounding the form of cohabitation documents? For example, will joint bank statements for...

Re: Tier 2 PBS Dependent Query

Also, this is the real one I am worried about: They are applying alone. Can I just pay for their IHS with their details directly on the IHS site without putting in my details, get that IHS number and use that on the application? That is the only way I seem to be getting the correct IHS payment. If I...

Re: Tier 2 PBS Dependent Query

Although, I have now switched to ILR from Tier 2, my Tier 2 Dependents (wife and son) are still allowed to continue and get an extension as my PBS Dependent? Also, is this the best approach as switching them to FLR(M) - Dependent of a Settled person will reset their clock back to 0? They can contin...

Re: Wife and sons correct extension for ILR

OK, here is my understanding working out your case. Anyone else who thinks I got something wrong, please correct me. (My personal experience is only of Tier 2 and ILR, and dependants being on Tier 2..) if your wife switches to FLR(M), then the total fee would be: £993 + Health Surcharge for 2.5 yea...

Re: Wife and sons correct extension for ILR

If you continue to apply for PBS extension and in the meantime your wife completes 10 years, you can apply for ILR for her I believe. And it will cost you less to get PBS extension than switch to FLR. I am not sure why has this not been pointed out. ? Hi, Yes, I am aware that she can apply for 10 y...

Re: Wife and sons correct extension for ILR

My wife has been my PBS dependent only for the past 2 years (she was on Tier 2 before) and would require another 3 years extension as PBS dependent. Re: Wife and sons correct extension for ILR

Your son will qualify for ILR as a PBS Dependent with and when your spouse does but only if she applies based on 5 years residence PBS dep route. What if my wife now changes to FLR(M) and leaves the PBS dependent route. In that case, if my son stays on PBS Dependent, when does he qualify? Total 5 y...

Now I have questions regarding my wife and son's application. My wife has...
