Can we use eGates at UK border?

My wife has an Australian passport and Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa. She arrived at Heathrow on 20-May which I believe was the first day Australians and various other countries could use eGates due to the new rules. Staff herding passengers into queues told her that as she had an Australian passport she...

Thanks CR001 that is clear now.
So will it be 2022 before we can all apply for ILR based on the immigration history above?
Thanks, Greg

Re: Overstayer - British Citizenship application

Thanks CR001 but I am not 100% clear on my sons situation. Are you saying that he can not apply for BC until one of the parents applies for (or is granted BC). Basically he can't receive BC before his parents do? I wasn't sure if he could leap ahead of us. Also if you could comment on my first post ...

Re: Overstayer - British Citizenship application

Also - I have a son born abroad in 2013.
He has no history of overstaying in the UK.
Will he be able to apply for BC as soon as I am granted ILR?

Thanks again.

Re: Confusing question on UKVCAS application form

I looked at the old paper application form and it used the following wording: 6.1 When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This refers to the date you entered the UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based. I am still feeling unclear but as this questio...

Confusing question on UKVCAS application form

I'm doing a dummy SET(O) application on the new UKVCAS website and I'm confused by the questions on this page. Date you first entered the UK When did you first enter the UK? (Required) This is the date you entered the UK when the period of stay you are basing this application on started. My visa his...

Re: ILR Application Date - Stayed more than 180 days away from UK

Your situation is very similar to my own. I have read the https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/indefinite-leave-to-remain-calculating-continuous-period-in-uk I think you can apply for ILR in Jan-2019 as you count backwards from your date of ILR application. Zimba can you please confirm if you ...

Re: Planning for my families ILR application

Thanks CR001 - that is very helpful. To clarify - I have 2 children. 1 was born in the UK and the other in Australia. I will include the Australian born child on form SET(o). The child born in the UK does have a PBS dependant BRP card which expires in Aug-2019 I will submit the ILR application for t...

Planning for my families ILR application

Hi All - I'd just like to check my plan for applying for ILR is correct. I am on a Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa and will be able to apply for ILR in Jan-2019 on the 5 year 200k route. I have 3 dependants (wife, 5yo and 1yo). All our current visas expire in Aug-2019. The 1yo was born in the UK. All are A...

Re: When to apply for ILR

I have been thinking about my situation more. My wife was also granted her (dependant) visa in Jun-2012. I understand that SET(O) does not consider her time out of the country. (She also had the same extended absence mentioned above). So as she has now been her for 5 years can she apply for ILR whil...

Re: Unaudited accounts for 2nd extension

Thank you. I had mis-read the section about un-audited accounts and now having re-read the section and it makes sense. People suggest including a special delivery envelope with the application. Is that a small envelope just for the letter advising the outcome of the application or a large envelope/b...

Unaudited accounts for 2nd extension

I am preparing my 2nd extension application. (200k route). I have shown in previous extension that 200k was invested into the company as required. Am I required to submit unaudited accounts again for a 2nd extension application? If so what period of time needs to be shown. My current unaudited accou...

Our situation was different to yours.
In the end we used the AR process to get a successful result.
So I can't really tell you about time frames from my experience.

Re: Mistake in claiming points in application form

I suggest you just ring your local MPs office and discuss it on the phone with their staff. That is what I did and it became very clear during the call that MPs get a lot of calls from people with immigration issues. The office manager I spoke with took down all the pertinent details about our situa...

Re: Dependent / partner of entrepreneur

You are correct. I checked my wifes BRP and it is as you stated.
I learn something every time I visit this forum.
However, they seem to be inconsistent as one of my children has no work restrictions while the other has a restriction on work as a sportsperson.

Cancelling the directors loan

I am on the 200k route and got my first T1 Entrepreneur visa in 2012. I am applying for a 2nd extension now. I invested the money using a directors loan. Can I repay the DL before I transfer to ILR, or is it required to remain there while I am subject to the T1 Entrepreneur visa rules? Reading the G...

Hi Zimba88. My partner is here as a Tier 1 Dependant and I am on an Entrepreneur visa. Her BRP states 'Restricted Work'. That contradicts what you stated above - are you sure, or could there be an error on her BRP?
