Non-EU family member of a pre-settled EU national

Hi, Would an EU citizen with a pre-settled status in the UK be able to bring his non-EU spouse and children into the UK? If yes, would that for a short term visit only or would his family be able to get a pre-settled status as well?. Could you please point me in the direction of the required applica...

Re: Home Office requested my original passport for citizenship application

Just an update in case someone gets into the same situation, I finally received my passports on 30th of April (bear in mind there has been over a month of HO work suspension as I understand it due to COVID-19).

Re: Home Office requested my original passport for citizenship application

Hi, It has been 8 weeks now since I sent my passports to the HO (4 months since I made my application). I know I'm still within the 6 months processing window, but the fact that they still haven't returned my passports is a bit concerning. I'm considering submitting the 'return of documents' form, h...

Re: Home Office requested my original passport for citizenship application

Many thanks for the detailed response. I have emailed the case worker asking whether they could extend the deadline for submitting the passports. Awaiting their response. Also phoned the HO visas help line, they said a refund is at the discretion of the case worker but highly unlikely in case of ref...

Home Office requested my original passport for citizenship application

Hi, We had our biometrics and doc scans taken for the British citizenship application on 24 Nov 2019. Today I received an email from HO asking that my wife and I send our current passports along with old passports covering a specific period between 2014 and 2018 (different periods for me and my wife...

Re: Child 1st Passport - Parents' passport at the time of applicant's birth

Many Thanks for the quick reply! Not relevant if child has a registration certificate. You only complete the sections relevant to a child who has gone through MN1. This makes sense, but the question doesn't exclude children with reg certificate. Could you please have a glance at this link 'p...

Child 1st Passport - Parents' passport at the time of applicant's birth

Hi, I'm applying for my daughter's first passport after she received her certificate of registration. I'm doing the paper application for a 1-week fast track. Referring to page 16 of the application booklet - Q3 is asking me to provide "Evidence of applicant's parents' immigration status in the UK a...

Parents have ILR and children exceeded Tier 2 dependant validity

Hi, my partner and I have ILR for a year now. My UK born children are still on Tier 2 dependant visa. The intention was to register them as British citizens straight after we get ILR but this didn't happen for various reasons. My question is, do I have to register them before the expiry of their Tie...

Re: Length of stay for spouse of tier2 - ILR eligibility

Oh no, it seems this will depend on the mood of the CW on the day then. Not too comforting. Can I ask how would you feel our chances are if my wife stayed 4.5 months continuously outside the country? Reason is to sit her exams at Uni back home with proof available from uni etc.

Many many thanks

Length of stay for spouse of tier2 - ILR eligibility

Hello, Is there a limit on how long can a spouse of a tier 2 applicant stay outside the UK before she/he loses her right to apply for ilr? Im aware she needs to stay for 5yrs in the country but how many days can she travel abroad in a given year? Also if there is a set number of days allowed in a gi...

How to establish that I have an established presence in UK?

Hello, My wife's application for a visa as a dependent of a Tier1 (PSW) immigrant (me) got refused for the following reason: "This is due to the fact that you have not established that your sponsor has an established presence in the UK" this is why they assessed my application on a higher maintenanc...
