Re: British citizenship for toddler who doesn't have a passport

1. Yes, once you have your ILR BRP card. 2. See #1 above. 3. No, he will need a visa to re-enter the UK. Having an application for citizenship pending does not give him any rights. He won't even be able to board a plane to come back without a visa. You will also need an Indian passport. 4. No there...

Dear all, I will greatly appreciate your comment on my case explained below. I am an Indian citizen on Tier 2 General Visa and I will apply for ILR on 19 Feb 2018 at a premium application centre. My son was born in the UK on 30 Nov 2017 and he doesn't have an Indian passport since I didn't get a cha...

Re: MAC review of TIER 2 route

The MAC have not yet published their recommendations - we are now expecting these mid-January. We will know what the recommendations are only then. Again, I should stress that these are only recommendations. The government is free to accept or reject these recommendations as they see fit.

Re: 'Cooling off period' visit visa application for mother

Thank you for the response. All these makes sense. The tie that she has with India and possibly what make this clear to the immigration officer that she is not planning to be a UK resident is that my dad will be in India while she is here and all their properties, savings etc are in India. What migh...

Maintenance for Tier 2 general visa extension

Hi, My employer told that there's no need to support my maintenance for my Tier 2 (General) visa extension. I had a look at the Tier 2 policy guidance and point 168 on Page 42 says that to obtain 10 points towards maintenance any one of the 3 conditions need to be satisfied. Since the first one "you...

Re: Applying for a visa for newborn along with an extension

Okay . Thanks vinny. On this front, my employer told that certificate of maintanence from A-rated sponsor is not required for this visa application since it's an extension. I had a look at the Tier 2 policy guidance and point 168 on Page 42 says that to obtain 10 points towards maintenance any one ...

Hi, My current contract is due to expire on 31 December. My employer is applying for an extension in September. My current Tier 2 (general visa) is valid until 26th January 2016. Once we get the new CoS for extension in September we are planning to submit documents to extend our (mine and my wife's)...

Re: Healthcare Surcharge

I have absolutely no issues with tax or NI and consider it as my duty to pay these as a resident enjoying all the goodness of this country. I am also happy to be paying NI for NHS, which to me is a great organisation that provides exceptional service to those who are in need. My issue was just about...

Re: Tier 2 (General Visa) Extension

Dear Manci, Thank you for the response. I should have been careful with the wording, sorry. "the company can only extend your contract, not your visa, and they'll have to assign a new CoS to you for the extension. An extension means that your job SOC code remains the same, if it doesn't you have to ...

Healthcare Surcharge

Hi all, I am a bit surprised with the new HealthCare surcharge. Am I right in thinking that when I extend my visa (end of this year) for another 3 years, then I will have to pay £1,800 (3 applicants including myself) in addition to the normal visa fees. Is this on top of ~£9,000 that we have already...

Tier 2 (General Visa) Extension

Hi, My current Tier 2 visa is valid until 26th Jan 2016 (valid from - 14 April 2013). However my current research contract is until 31 December 2015. We are planning to travel to India with baby (due end of June) in December. I had a quick chat with the director of operations and he told that they a...

Tier 2 visa refusal.

Dear all, I applied for a Tier 2 visa from India last month. Eventhough I scored points for all attributes, my application was refused on the grounds of maintenance support stating that the original e-statements (Bank in Ireland) which I submitted with my application was a copy. I have earlier appli...

Thank you for the response. I am completely aware of what you have described here. In fact I am looking for a response from user 'bunnymoo' who posted on a differe...

On the same boat !

Even I applied for a Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa in March and have not been notified with any decision. It looks like from January - March UKBA have issued 26 Tier 1 exceptional talent visa. 'Ref. Home Office Research and Statistics'. I might probably be the second one enquiring about the process...
