Re: Requested applicant's passport, received decision in 6 d

We requested the passport around 2 months after submitting the application and the UKBA were actually the ones who mentioned that we could request the non-sponsors documents back (as long as they were not for travel), so they didn't need convincing at all. It's definitely something that they can do...

Requested applicant's passport, received decision in 6 days!

Thanks Essexb Can I ask, after how many weeks of submitting your application, did you ask for wife's passport back, were you closer to six months deadline and what reason did you give to them ? Did they readily agree to return your wife's passport or you have to convince them and did they gave you ...

I just phoned the UKBA and they said they've posted something to me by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. The advisor said it was probably the return of documents but she can't tell on her screen apparently. In disbelief at the moment as we applied back on 16th February. I'll update when I know more..fi...

Re: Biometrics Letter

The same happened to me. The bio letter was dated the day after my husband called to request his passport. The simple reason is in order to return a document, we need to be in their database; and when your application is entered into the database, the bio letter is automatically generated. I missed...

Re: Biometrics Letter

Just a quick update on my timeline....very interesting - after nearly 10 weeks after payment was taken and without a biometrics letter I phoned the 087 number to request my spouse's passport back. 2 days later I received my biometrics letter dated the day of my phone call. Not sure this is coincide...

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/postal_flrm_applications_times_a#incoming-311921 I love how they assume I'm a dude. They give the most vague answers possible, and I've given up trying to understand how they operate. It sounds like they put applications in order of application date ONCE biomet...

Re: waiting and waiting and waiting!

It's definitely worth a try, just make sure that the person you speak to the on the phone is clear you just want the non sponsor's passport/visa back for a job interview or whatever and that you do not wish to withdraw the application. Might be worth taking their name too incase something goes wron...

Once an application is submitted it cannot be turned into a premium service. which mean you will have to withdraw your old application and file a new one from scratch plus i have also heard that there arent any premium visa service appointments available in the near future. And one cannot file 2 ap...

Has anyone had any experience with processing their visa quickly based on family emergencies? I've just now had news about my dad's failing health and he's in the ER. I'm pretty sure I've heard others on here saying they have ill family members but the UKBA has refused to help them out. Not sure my ...

I've been lurking a while. As I now have some information, I thought I would share. I just called the UKBA number to receive an update as my application is over 6 months old. Once I provided my details, the response I received was quote "I am sorry your application is still awaiting a decision. I h...

I know! To be honest I'm amazed, but it seems that someone has been sensible somewhere and thought rather than sending the documents to us, then waiting for them to be returned, they decided to just make a decision! To clarify, I'm a British national and we specifically requested my wife's document...

Hi all, Thought I would share my experience with you all, as may be of benefit: My wife is Colombian and we applied just before the rules changed in July (dates below). As I know lots of people probably applied at this time (and knowing about the time it took PSW apps to be processed) we prepared o...

Re: Biometric letter update

All, Here is an update for July applicants. I called the UKBA today and there was some good news in the form that they confirmed that my application is now in the system and they have printed the biometrics letter. The letter has not been posted yet but will be done so over the course of next week....

Great to hear you got your biometrics letter. Looks like quite a few June applications have received their letters recently so hopefully things are moving along a bit at the UKBA! Hope you managed to get your biometrics done and your passport back..... We managed to do my husband's biometrics last ...

Hi all, Finally got my biometrics letter today, mailed the day after we called to request my husband's passport back - funny that! I'm wondering about my surname though. Because we got married in May and had little time to get the application in before the 9 July law change date, I didn't have time ...

Re: Request of Sponsor PAssport

Hi guys been following the thread as I am in the same boat as all of you, and just a quick question If I request my Passport back (Sponsor for my wife) will the application be still considered or will be treated as the application been withdrawn? I am thinking of requesting just my passport so at l...

Re: FLR (M) Waiting times

So I did spend my hour with Eine Kleine Nachtsmusik and had a response that our biometric request letter was sent out on 3rd of August! One step in the positive direction! The person I spoke to also said that 75% of applications are decided within 4 weeks after biometrics are enrolled - hopefully t...

All I am gettign loads of Private messages regarding a few things I have said here, so wanted to clarify: 1. I was given this Fax number by the Person I spoke to for return of docs. Sending a fax here ensures that it goes to the correct team handling your case. 2. If requesting your/ sponsor's pass...

Re: FLR (M) Waiting times

Hi mrsclc78, Thank you for your reply. Can I ask which number you called to request the sponsor's passport back? Were you successful? We mailed two letters requesting my (sponsor) documents back asap as I needed to go to a business trip on 30 July. We received no response whatsoever and I had to mi...

Re: FLR (M) Waiting times

Hi Dsin - thank you for your update! Yes, indeed hopefully this means that ours is on its way. It seems however that the real wait can come after the biometrics are enrolled? Based on the posts in this thread they can go into months?! We will need our passports by 4th of September, so seems like we...

Re: biometrics letter

Quick update - we called the number on the biometrics letter and were told to go to Milton Keynes post office about 30 miles away. We got over there as soon as we could only to be told that their biometrics machine wasn't working so could we come back in half an hour. We were too late by then to ge...

Hi there, Just a quick update - my husband received his biometrics letter in the post today :D I know we still have a long wait but at least it feels like we have moved a step forward.
