One of the things I often wonder is if the UKBA scrutinise certain applications more closely than others, based solely on the applicant's nationality. It might explain why some applications are processed in just a couple of months, while others are dragged out for six or more.

Just to update on our progress, biometrics letter received today. We made our application on 26/06/12 and received our acknowledgement letter on 05/07/2012. So our wait time for biometrics letter was: 6 weeks, 3 days from date of application. 5 weeks, 1 day from date acknowledgement letter received.
