letter from JobCentre for unemployed applying Schengen visa

Dear all, My wife and I are planning to visit Spain together this September. We are both UK permanent residents (ILR). However, my wife is a full time housewife at the moment hence she is unemployed. I found in the document requirements, it is stated that for unemployed, she need a JobCentre letter ...

Fingers crossed for us to receive all the BRPs soon. Have a good weekend. I think this happens sometimes. I applied and got approved in Solihull PEO on 11th Feb along with 2 dependents. Today we only received my BRP and one dependent's BRP. Called DX and they have not got my other dependent's BRP. I...

Thanks again! I called and they said there was nothing for me. However after hanging up the phone, realised that I should have given them my wife's surname instead of mine... Now it's after 5pm, will try again on Monday. Thanks all! Alternatively you could call the courier DXSecure to see whether th...

Re: Is it common main applicant gets BRP days before dependa

Can I send email to them now? Have not been 10 working days yet. Dear all, We applied the ILR and got approved at Glasgow PEO. Thanks all for your help here. My BRP has already arrived, however after couple of days my wife still hasn't got hers. Is this common? Previously when we applied for T1 G an...

Thanks for answering! I also found this question in section 10 interesting: "Dependants and applicants under the age of 16: If the applicant or any dependant included included on this application is under the age of 16 please complete questions 13, 14, 15 and 16. If not please go to question 17. 13....

question about SET(O) form section 10

Dear all, I'm filling the SET(O) form at the moment. In section 10: details about BRP and fingerprints history, I found that they only ask the main applicants to provide BRP info, when and where fingerprints were taken etc. Just want to check that dependents are not required to tell them when and wh...

Many thanks cs95tdg! I'll go through all the documents carefully. When looking into my previous applications, including T1G initial application in 2009 and T1G extension in 2012, I discover that a starting date of Aug 2007 was mentioned in both of the employer's letters. And UKBA office seemed cool ...

That is correct, that is my major concern. Although there were around 10 PhDs I know (in different universities with different nationalities) doing the same thing around 2007/08. None of their HRs thought this was a problem. The university HR did these things when applying for the work permit: asked...

Yes, single employer throughout my time as a student & wp holder & T1 G And the same university where I did my phd. My only worry is UKBA saying something like "you shouldn't work more than 20hrs/week while waiting for your WP LTR, although you had your WP approved.", referring to my status in late ...

Thanks! Regarding to 2), I was under student visa at that time, but has a work permit. The post was Research Associate which does not require PhD degree. My WP-LTR visa was granted 9th Jan 2008. In Jul 2007, HR firstly got work permit letter from Home office, then they asked me for my undergraduate ...

WP 1.5 yr + T1G 3.5 yr application: employer's letter

Dear all, I got my work permit during my PhD just before my thesis submission in Jul 2007. My WP visa started from early Jan 2008 and in June 2009 I changed it to T1 G. Now I'm applying for the ILR. Do I need a letter from my employer? I've been with my university for more than 5 years. The only off...

Hi asim, Thanks for your clarification. Yes I'm on the 5-yr route rather than 10-yr. Does this mean that although my wife has a gap (from WP LTR visa to PBS dependent entrance clearance, she went back to home country for this application, took around 2 months), she can still directly apply for ILR a...

Hi harv, Thanks again. I was told by a friend whose wife had a T1 General dependent visa that they both got ILR with T1 G and the dependent visa at the same time. In that case is T1 G dependent visa a settlement visa? She needs to change to FLR as soon as you have ILR. After that she can wait to mak...

Can my wife apply for ILR at the same time

Hi all, I'm going to apply for ILR this December (Work Permit + T1 General = 5 years). My wife has been living with me since 2008 and we got married since 2009. The marriage status is registered and shown on the Police Registration Certification at that time. However she was still on her own work pe...
