Re: expired IELTS - can it still be used for BC application?

sorry, one more question I've sent the email to HO asking them to confirm regarding the use of the expired IELTS certificate, but I got an autoreply saying that they aim to come back within 20 days. I've booked my husband for a test this Saturday and we are hoping to apply before the end of the mon...

Re: What will happen to non-EEA wife if divorce?

It depends of how long you guys have been married. If you have been married for at least 3 years, she would be able to retain residence rights. For more information, please check section 5.4 of the following document: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/264951/...

Re: expired IELTS - can it still be used for BC application?

Hi I came across the topic below http://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/ielts-after-6-april-2015-t181711.html where was some debate regarding the expired IELTS. I have an IELTS certificate, which was issued in UK, in 2007 if not mistaken. The certificate was used for extension of my H...

Re: IELTS after 6 April 2015

Thanks No, even after 5th November you will still be able to take the IELTS exam and use its result for Naturalisation purposes. All comments here are only regarding...

Re: IELTS after 6 April 2015

After reading these exchanges I am confused. She plans to take the IELTS Academic on April 18 at Lewisham and Southwark College, and we would apply for naturalisation as soon as she gets the IELTS results. The requirement is listed only as equivalent to B1 level speaking and listening. I assume thi...

Re: IELTS after 6 April 2015

You seem to have missed every point I have made in my post including links to the sources that I have clearly made. SELT affects only visa applications and is not subject to naturalisation applications. http://www.natecla.org.uk/news/783/English-language-exam-changes What you say is correct for vis...

IELTS will continue to be accepted for Naturalisation application after November 2015 regardless of when it was taken. Are you reading what it's being posted or just repeating yourself without providing any valid sources to counterpoint the arguments presented? Don't do assertions which are not bas...

Re: IELTS after 6 April 2015

SELT list expiry dates do not apply to Naturalisation applications. Those expiry date are for visa applications, mainly spouse visa, further leave to remain and indefinite leave to remain. Validity dates of SELT qualifications are not applicable to citizenship applications, as validity dates are no...

Re: IELTS after 6 April 2015

OK, so this is interesting. IELTS is still accepted and will continue to be. If you take IELTS before 5th April 2015, such IELTS result can be used on applications submitted until 5th November 2015. If you take the test after 5th April 2015, you can use it whenever you want. I say this is interesti...

Re: 129 Pages EEA application for, what for

My opinion is that is all for setting up applicants for failure. By requesting this amount of info on the application, they are: a) Building themselves a nice body of evidence for rejecting cases; b) Making it easier to spot application inconsistencies; Instead of having correspondence back and for...

Re: Difficulty of Life in the UK test:

My partner did it last year, said it was unbelievably easy. As long as you read the book once or twice (I have read twice + another cursory reading a couple of days before the test, but that's just because my previous two reads were way before the test), it is indeed incredibly easy. You don't more...

It would be worth to point out that I believe this would be classed as a marriage of convenience, given that the relationship broke down and the marriage is being kept just for immigration purposes.

Re: EU national. How to settle in UK despite possible EU exi

There's no amount of questioning that will help you with it. As I've said, there is no framework or guarantees in law regarding the immigration status of EU citizens in the case of UK exit of the EU. There simply isn't any, this situation is not covered by law at the moment and is completely hypoth...

Re: EU national. How to settle in UK despite possible EU exi

Some of the assumptions made by these MPs regarding EU state citizens' statuses in case of UK exit of the EU are based on human rights enshrined by law in the UK Can you specify what rights would those be? I have read this list http://www.equalityhumanrights.com/your-rights/human-rights/what-are-hu...
