Re: Residence requirements - Physical presence 5 years ago

Hi neverme,
Can you please confirm how many days after your biometric appointment did you receive the letter from home office with the redate form?

Also was it sent in hard copy or via email?

3 year physical presence requirement not met

Can someone please confirm which date is used to check if you were in the country exactly 3 years before? Is it the date the online application was submitted or is it the date you have the appointment at UKVCAS to submit biometrics and documents. I always thought its the latter and have submitted th...

Re: Surrender certificate/OCI without naturalisation

I have applied for her British passport - waiting to receive it. Doing the homework for the next step :) For the birth certificate question - yes - it does mention birth certificate for passport Surrender certificate. It does not for OCI - for OCI it just mentions registration or naturalisation cert...

Re: Surrender Certificate

What supporting documents did you provide for the surrender certificate?

I am assuming since your daughter has british citizenship by descent you didn't have a naturalisation certificate for her?

I am in a similar situation and applying for a surrender certificate - so wanted to know.

Thanks.

Surrender certificate/OCI without naturalisation

Hi, My daughter was born in India but has British citizenship (by descent) from birth since I was a british citizen at the time of her birth. We got her a Certificate of entitlement to Right of Abode on her Indian passport. Now I am in the process of getting her an OCI. As a part of that I first nee...

How to fill SELT UER on SET(O) form

Hi, This may probably sound like a stupid question but I need to fill in the SELT UER on the SET(O) form. The Trinity college FAQs state "If you took the exam after 18 August 2015 you will find the reference number on your certificate. For example: TCL/123456/123456/123456789 All reference numbers s...

Re: Big changes to continuous residence rule for ILR applicants under PBS

Vinny - this paragraph in your post has confused me a bit - "Unlike the high profile changes to the absence criteria for ILR dependants announced at the same time, this new formula for calculating continuous residence will, in effect, be retrospective. Anyone applying for ILR on or after 11 January ...

Re: Right of Abode or British Passport or Indian Passport?

Having applied for the COE myself I am still unclear in whether TB certificate is needed. Having said that we had included it with our application. Our baby was 4 weeks old then. If you are taking one it needs to be from a UKBA approved clinic. The doctor will not run any tests. They will just have ...

Re: Right of Abode or British Passport or Indian Passport?

Hi Sandhya, I don’t think physical presence of the father is needed as long as all the documentation is there. The VFS guys wouldn’t care who is accompanying the child for the submission. If you fill in your name in the declaration on the form it should be enough. However a note to highlight is that...

Re: RoA CoE for a British citizen child born in India

As with everything else there is no "mandatory" list of documents to be submitted. The documents need to be sufficient enough for the case officer to take a decision. Parents’ full birth certificate, registration or naturalization certificate is listed as one of the documents which the applicant "ca...

Re: British Passport or COE-ROA on Indian Passport?

The application for the right of abode for my daughter has been successful. Related to the above - we stated the nationality as Indian in the application and No for any other nationalities. We had no issues with that in getting the ROA approved. Just a note for anyone else who is in the process or w...

Re: RoA CoE for a British citizen child born in India

The application for the right of abode for my daughter has been successful. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has helped in along the way. It took roughly 3 weeks to get this through but that was because of a hiccup in between. Without it we probably would have got in around 2 weeks. Just a ...

Link to track UK visa applications made through VFS, India

Hi, I have recently applied for a visa for my parents at Mumbai VFS, India. I remember when I had done the same about 4 years ago - there used to be a link where I could check the status of the application online. I can no longer find that link. Hi, I am applying for a UK visa for my daughter (2 months old) and have filled up the online application form on the VFS site. After completing the form - it asks for a declaration to be signed. There is text box for signature in which we need to enter a name. The signature on the hardcopy form will...
