Dates on passport application

Hi all, I filled out my British Passport application today even though my citizenship ceremony is not until next week. I got my countersignatory to sign the application today and he dated it today. My plan is to go straight from the ceremony to the post office next week (I'll add the certificate det...

They said they'd automatically send me out a citizenship ceremony date and time, and I have to wait for up to two weeks to receive it. Anybody ...

The documentation does state that they have to be *directors* of a VAT Registered company - technically only one person can be the director of the company (I think). I may be wrong but it might be worth getting a second opinion

Their computer will surely know... Visa cards start with a 4 and Mastercards start with a 5. So I can't see there being any problem!

Thanks so much for the advice! You're right it is humid. I was actually there in June briefly and even just standing outside for 90 seconds made me break out into a sweat. But I've heard that it's nice there for 6 months of the year including Dec Jan Feb... which sounds great when I think of the UK'...

Citizenship application in progress - job offer overseas

Hi all, I currently have a naturalisation application with the home office submitted two weeks ago, and I've received the confirmation letter. I'm considering taking a job in Hong Kong with a British company for 6 or 12 months which starts in November. Obviously I'd have to come back to the UK to do...

Thanks for the reassurance! I will definitely be including a cover letter (or I'll put something in the big box at the end of the form) if I put a friends address.

Can I use a friend's address for my application

Hi again, I'm going to apply for citizenship 26 September but the lease on my rented flat expires 14 October and I know that I will not be renewing the tenancy. If I don't have a new place to live before 26 September, will it be okay to put a friend's address as my address on my application? I assum...

When can a referee sign my form AN - can it be early?

Hi there, I'm not eligible to apply for citizenship until 26 September 2012 (my ILR visa is dated 26 September 2011). However, it would be immensely helpful if I could get one of my referees to sign my form before that date, because he is going away on the 23rd for 6 weeks. Is it acceptable to have ...
