Child's British Passport query-post JR

Dear all, Our baby was born in Jan 2009 and subsequent to the JR ruling(4-5yrs) reversal we got a pre-dated ILR valid from Oct 2008. By that time we had already secured a Indian passport for the child. Subsequent to the JR ruling we sent all 3 passports and got ILR stamps unknowing that the child wa...

Hi HMRB, I was in the same situation till last year and I travelled to several countries with no problem at all using my visa in the old passport (admittedly not to Malta). Then on return from one of my trips an immigration officer at Heathrow transferred my visa from the old to the new one using an...

Anyway, with regards to a refund, did you received a backdated letter? If you do, then you will be eligible for the refund and it should have been mentioned just around the next paragraph to that. But if they didn't mention aything around back-dating, then their judgement is that you still needed t...

ILR query for successful HSMP under JR Applicants-Urgent

Hi, I am applying for ILR under the JR and need to confirm if we need to send absences list for dependents as well ? I do not have many trips out of UK...just a few holidays and yearly family visits. However my husband is in international sales and travels frequently. Should I chart out his trips an...

troyguy,
Congrats and thanks for sharing. I have been trying to get a peo appt for a month now without any joy. The 2 week turnaround for your postal app sounds wonderful. Did you give them any reason for hurrying up your application ?

ILR after 4 years ?

I understand that unlike the extension criteria the 5 years to ILR directive has not been reversed post the JR. How illogical of the HO to reverse their stand on retrospective change for one and then leave the other. Has anyone tried to get an opinion from the HO on whether ILR can be applied after ...

I don't think spitting has been discussed at this length anywhere anytime. :D

Lighten up !!

sushdmehta, We've only ever sent faxes or scanned copies of these documents, so i guess photocopies are fine. Just make sure that all documents have visible information for authenticity checks e.g employer letter should clearly show the address, phone no, fax, email etc. your sponsorship letter shou...

SYH,
You should take your own advice. You can't always be right and even if you are, it is not necessary the everyone should always recognise that. You would be a delight for a professional winder ! :D

if i dont like it his family can find him plenty of other girls in india.
Chauvinistic is a really mild term for this...it is more arrogance than anyone needs to bear from an immensely nasty person.

I suggest you sort your relationship out and fast. Although as jes2jes has rightly pointed out we do not know his side of the sto...

sushdmehta, You do not need to mention their pension for their visit visa as you are sponsoring them. Your bank statement showing sufficient funds to sponsor their stay and travel should be enough. If your parents are called for an interview then they should maintain that you are completely sponsori...

I have seen enough and more English spitting on the roads...surprisingly teenagers. And the way they put their shoe clad feet on bus and train seats horrifies me and I am from Asia... butterfly, It sounds like its not your relationship which is a problem but his desire to get his family here. This is a common issue in every marriage and all of us live with it and resolve it in different ways. The visa is not going to resolve this for you. Just because he is on a spouse visa and y...

First of all we immigrants have no say on the fee set by government because , 1. We choose this country to be for better life for ourself and for our children therefore we got to sacrifice one off payment. 2. The benefit we get after getting respective status such as ILR or Naturalised British Citi...

I think they are trying to fund the restructuring of the HO (with the creation of the Ministry of Justice, BIA etc) with money generated through visa/naturalisation fees. Also there must have been a substantial drop in their visa takings after most of Eastern Europe joined the EU so they have to ma...

Immigration is definately not being done by the HO as a trade. Hence supply/demand formula cannot be applied when setting the fees. Inflation could be one justifiable reason for increase and better service standards could be another but as pointed out above, both do not match with the current increa...

If he was here for 3 yrs on a WP before you married is there a reason why you think you are being used ? In fact, he's made himself vulnerable by switching.

Also, it is not possible to get one's family here and settle them all just because one has an ILR. Its not as simple as that.

Chetanojha, Even if you don't have a few payslips you can claim for them by showing alternate proof - like bank statement with salary for all months. As long as you have payslips from before and after the gap and you point out the continued salary from that source, it is not imperative that you send...
