Bump.

Any response regarding this would be most useful. Based on your response, I shall decide whether or not to return the BRP in the ceremony tomorrow.

Thank you very much.

Re: Is an Nationality Status letter still useful as proof of BC claim for child?

Hello,

It would be great, if someone could please check the references in my previous post to confirm that the NS certificate is no longer useful as evidence of BC for a child born when one had ILR.

Re: Is an Nationality Status letter still useful as proof of BC claim for child?

Hello Vinny,

Thank you very much for your response.

Thanks for the response. Would it please be possible to shed some light on the feasibility of doing the above? Out of all the cases linked in the 'Surprised Brits' thread, do you know if people have had success using this suggestion?

Is an Nationality Status letter still useful as proof of BC claim for child?

Hello, For the following scenario: "My child was born in the UK when I had ILR. His claim to British Citizenship is the fact that I had ILR when he was born. The key document proving the ILR status at the time of birth is the ILR BRP. This was used to get the first child passport but then is require...

Re: Can I apply for Nationality Status for child after returning BRP?

Post Office certified copies of BRP Would you know if I can apply for a Nationality Status certificate for my child without my BRP ? Thanks! Rega...

Re: Can I apply for Nationality Status for child after returning BRP?

Hello, Thank you very much for your response. I had read about the problems applying for the passport without BRP, so have already done so and have already received his passport a while back along with my BRP. However, from the threads that I've read here, possession of an existing passport does not...

Re: Official ref for "ILR is not subject to immigration cont

Thank you very much Casa. I had googled a lot to find this, and the link you've posted was one of the links I found. Unfortunately, the only places I found to have clearly stated this are on forums and the like and not an official site. I tried asking this same question to the Child Benefit helpline...

Questions about surrender of passport of child to VFS

Hello, I am planning to surrender my child's passport in person in a VFS centre. I can see that one of the parents has the sign the application form and the declaration form. Took SELT with BRP (but incorrect BRP has to be returned now

Hello, I used my current BRP as the ID when I gave the SELT exam. However, after that when I travelled outside UK, while coming back there were some problems in the biometrics recorded on the BRP. I was advised to contact the home office to correct these problems. I have done that, and received an e...

Re: Cannot change thread title (First post subject not edita

Great, thanks for the clarification. But the essence of what the topic suggests remains the same - you choose the title that reflects the summary of your situation so that multiple questions about various things about your situation can be answered in a single topic creating a logical flow of the di...

Re: Cannot change thread title (First post subject not edita

Thank you. However, that still leaves the issue of having 'Relevant thread titles' open. I would have thought that with the ban of multiple threads, being able to edit the thread title to reflect the latest question would be needed. For instance, referring to the same thread http://www.immigrationbo...

Hello, I have gone through http://www.immigrationboards.com/indefinite-leave-to-remain/faqs-english-language-requirements-for-settlement-t193792.html and have reached the conclusion that I need to give the SELT exam to prove my knowledge of English. Re: How to prove 5 yrs stay(Visa stamp unclear, nothing in S

Don't worry about a "non-issue"! That is what my SO keeps telling me :) I shall be applying in person. As you advise, I will take a copy of the travel booking (as well as the SAR) and use them if questioned. Hmm, my apologies for harping on about this. But it would be really re-assuring to hear bac...

Thank you for your response Geriatrix (not relevant, but I have fond memories of spending countless hours with Asterix and Obelix comics .... *as a grown up* :) ) Would you know of any other applicants in a similar situation (i.e. Illegible stamp + no landing card + SAR inconclusive) ? If on the the...

I have already looked at posts on the forum with similar problems and have taken all action I can think of based on that. Problem My understanding is that case workers loo...
