Great idea!

Go ahead and spend £1702 for naturalisation ( whilst jumping the queue )!

I'm sure your investment will provide quite a nice bit of entertainment - I mean education, for the entire forum.

Good luck! Make sure you let us all know your outcome!

From what I've read, it is when a warrant pertaining to council tax is issued ( triggering bailiff action ) , that a threat to your BC comes into play. I imagine UKBA has access to some database to check this. I was concerned about the council tax at one of my previous addresses when I discovered ga...

There are immigration lawyers that offer no win no fee guarantees. I used one for my ILR and he made it quite clear that I needed to meet a certain criteria ( no criminal charges, no trips more than 90 days at a time ), in order to have a shot. Excessive absences were something he was confident he c...

They seem to be very good at applying discretion for absences during ILR decisions ( where you have the right to appeal and there is a huge precedent with the Nigerian case ). However, they seem to be apply discretion for absences very sparingly ( if at all? ) during naturalization decisions ( where...

The important thing is that she was physically in the UK exactly three years before she applies for Naturalisation. Actually, the important date is 3 years before applying plus one day . For example, if an application is made on January 1st 2013, the person must have been present in the UK on the d...

The whole case is probably 50/50. I recall a story of a Saudi prince who once brought over a whole truckload of cigarettes and fine alcohol from France. They believed it was for personal use and just flagged it through. The limit is arbitrary. Seems a pity they went after the little guy. Again, the ...

Just received my naturalization approval today. As mentioned previously, I sent my PSNI report along with my application. I fully expected to be told a report supplied by me was not good enough since the caseworkers guidelines mentioned the report should be sent straight to them. Somehow, they have ...

If the 11000 cigarettes were truly for you ( would seem like a 1 year supply? ), the law states you have the right to bring them into the country. It doesn't seem you've done a very good job convincing them all the cigarettes were for you - and the most recent letter, though designed for the maximum...

Good for you!

Going through the naturalisation waiting game is quite hard ( going through that right now ). Can't imagine going through that twice ( nor the expense ) - good you don't have to.

Good also for the UKBA being so resonable!!

You are right with some of your assertions Gyfrinachgar. Particularily, there is no obligation to let a TV license inspector into your home. And a great number of British people have great pleasure by dodging these officals. However, the OP can correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears he has let one ...

Council Tax - payment of council tax is a legal requirement ( and something that is mentioned in the caseworkers guidance notes ). TV License - you are liable for a fine of up to £1000 pounds if your matter goes to court. You will get a criminal record if convicted. If you have let a TV license insp...

Driving past a no entry sign is a driving error - no way that could possibly be interpreted as sign of bad character! If I made such a mistake right now ( three weeks into a naturalization app. myself ), I may well be inclined to limit my driving / take some public transport in order to best ensure ...

What are the details?

btw, the DAT1 application states they must respond to the request in under 40 days. The actual turnaround they provide is two weeks - they responded to my DAT1 request on the 13th day. Outside of the two weeks, the second class mail is an issue here also. If the certificate I provided is deemed to b...
