They live in Spain. The kids are Spanish citizens but the parents aren't. They are not EU citizens. My question is: Ca...

Re: British Citizenship – ILR Refugeee route

If a person fell foul of the 10 years good character because they were refugee running from their home country, then the Good character of illegal entry is not applicable to them. "To meet the residence requirements, you should not have been in breach of immigration law during the residential quali...

Re: British Citizenship – ILR Refugeee route

Thanks guys for the swift response. His story with the HO in his asylum case is that he moved to the UK in fear of persecution based on sexuality. He didn't claim asylum on entry because he didn't know he qualified for asylum. This was accepted by the HO and was granted asylum when he applied years ...

Hi Guys, I'm seeking advice on behalf of a friend who currently has ILR (Refugee) and due to be eligible for naturalisation in February 2019. The concern goes thus: According to his records with HO, he entered the UK in 2002 (but they have no record of him entering because he entered as a clandestin...

Probably start all over again. Thanks Vinny for your quick response. I also suspected that he'll have to start all over again, be my mate pointed out that part of the requirements of a Set(M) application is that, the applicant has to have been in a relationship akin to marriage with his partner and...

Re: Does UK Refugee need visa to visit Ireland?

Hi, If you have been granted Refugee Status, you will need to apply for a Convention Travel Document (CTD) to be able to travel outside the UK. On the back page of that document, it tells you which countries you can travel to visa-free for a visit no longer than 3 months. I think Eire is one of them...

Piri, Yes you can, I went to New York 2 years ago using my CTD. I had to apply for a visa whihh was about £100 and ho to the embassy in London. Hi Nkechi, The ECS shouldn't give a negative response if your ILR is still valid...It doesn't matter who your employer is. The Employer Checking Service (ECS) is solely for checking immigration status of an employee by an employer. I think an error has been made either by your employer whilst fillin...

No he cannot, because he does not hold a visa as an Unmarried Partner or spouse to qualify for Set(M). He will have to wait till 2018, there is no short cut or easy route.

Thanks a lot CR001.
