My husband forgot his uk residence card IN the UK!

Hi everyone, I haven't posted on this forum for ages since my husband got his RC on an a4 sheet of paper back in march. However, he has forgotten this piece of paper at our home in the uk, and now we're in Berlin for the weekend. We both have Canadian passports, and I also have my Italian. We don't ...

@Obie - you're right of course, it's just hard not to get a little worked up at a thread entitled "EU partner doesn't like working." It's especially difficult to swallow since I feel that this is a poor use of public funds to which my household contributes.

Yes, imagine someone getting upset at this story. I suppose people at the receiving end of social benefits have a different attitude than those who unwillingly enable people to choose not to work.

Frankly it would be absurd for your family to receive PR on the basis of self-sufficiency if your husband is dependent on the state out of sheer laziness. Stories like this make me extremely upset. One third of our pay cheques go to taxes. It's ridiculous. Tell him he should be ashamed of himself.

Yeah I got my RC on a separate sheet of paper too! Well actually, I applied for my EEA1, which came pasted onto a stiff blue booklet, which is fine. My partner got his EEA2 on an 8x11" sheet of paper, it looks like I could have made this at home! I'm also worried it will rip or something. Does anyon...

Thanks Flipper! And yes - I do mean "husband," I suppose I'm just not used to it yet! I know we didn't need to worry at all, it's crazy! My friend is Canadian and moved to London with her Netherlands husband and two kids, and it's been eight months for her without even receiving a COA. She's request...

Hey guys, I'm here to give you some hope! My boyfriend and I returned from Italy yesterday to find that both our RC's had arrived! I am an Italian national exercising treaty rights as a student, he's a Canadian citizen who was working on the Tier 5 Youth Mobility visa. Here's our timeline: January 1...

Here you go Nidau: LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

Though speaking by principle, you should try harder to do your own research and work; this email address is all over the thread AND on the UKBA website!

Hey mcru, that's great! That's how I was hoping my request would work out... I requested my passports back February 1st and got them back the 7th, which was GREAT. However, my application was received by the HO January 14th, and the request of my passports back did not prompt my receiving the COA as...

@har.is - I haven't received my COA either, and the HO received my joint EEA1/EEA2 application on January 14th! I am particularly surprised because we got our passports back on February 7th as per our request eight days earlier. I hope they don't request our passports back again....

Hey Andy, I filled out a form and sent it to the Liverpool address, but you should ask your EEA spouse to do it (I'm the EEA national). I only requested our passports back, no other documents, but I've heard of someone requesting more than just the passports successfully. If you request the passport...

Hey Andy,

I submitted my EEA1/2 application which was received January 14th, but haven't received a COA either. We did request our passports back, though, which we got in eight days. We requested them by citing our Royal Mail reference.

The return of documents form is a general form that EVERYONE must use, no matter what kind of visa they're applying for. The RODR address is the same - it's for everyone. The Liverpool address is SPECIFICALLY for EEA applications, which you see under the "return of documents EEA" webpage.

You sent it to the wrong address the first time, so I wouldn't count that time. You must wait at least ten days from sending it to the Liverpool email address before contacting anyone else. Did you submit the return of documents form?

Contact your MP! They have been quite helpful to others.

How many days have passed since you sent it to the Liverpool address specifically? Did you fill in the form?

I sent a request last Monday and haven't heard back yet.
