Hi, my wife and myself acquired british citizenship back in 2008. and obtained PIO soon after. we would now like to apply for OIC but are confused about the surrender certificate. we don't have a surrender certificate as these were issued after 2009, do we need to obtain one before applying for OIC....

thanks for the reply, you mean to say if my friend applies on the 20th of january 2010, he can apply for citizenship under the old rules, and hence the probabtionary rule does not apply to him. is the july 2013 date on the home office website when you say the 28th days rule does not apply to citizen...

i got a letter for an interview, booked an appointment for next week, availability for appointments is good.

the guy from the home office (?) said that it would take upto 5 working days for the passport after the interview and upto 3 weeks for the indian passport.
