update: we were about to submit a new application but consulate have now decided to issue new visas free of charge. we will submit the passports tomorrow. fingers crossed.

but can a second visa application be submitted whilst the first one is valid?

e.g current valid visa from 15th May to 30th June

can i apply for a second visa from 1st July to 15th July?

if so, do i need to apply for new visa from 15th May to 15th July?

or from 1st July to 15th July?

The guide says to count the days excluding the departure and arrival days. I went to France on 26 Jan 2012 and returned back on 27 Jan 2012 so excluding departure and arrival days, absence count is 0 do i need to report this in the AN form and mention days absent as 0 or can i exclude reporting this...

You got ILR on 20.04.12. There is no 28 days leeway for Citizenship applications.
