Clearly UKBA deliberately provides false / ambiguous info from citizenship queries. One day applicants will stop asking until they are entitled to ( after 6 months ) and the process will speed up for everybody. FOA info has stated UKBA staff working on the applications are trained across a variety o...

Lately, I have noticed those applying for naturalisation have become unbelievably impatient. Habitual weekly/ bi-weekly emails to UKBA ( despite clear proof no action is taken to provide a response ), discussion of wasting MP's time to complain despite not reaching 6 months, incessant worry about pa...

they told me it was a bit soon to have my certificate, so i suppose they contact the HO, after making your appointment, to send them and it takes 2 days; do you know if this is right? The certificate is sent out using special delivery at the same time as the approval letter. Council gets the certif...

They say to allow up to 6 weeks for processing of your first British passport.

Outside of peak travel season ( say June through August ), most people, if diligent, manage to complete the process in under 2 weeks time.

Honestly, the fastest way to "get it sorted" starts here: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/britishcitizenship/applying/applicationtypes/naturalisation/ If UKBA rejects applications made by misunderstanding "must be present in the country 5 years before applying" ( most common rejection reason ), wh...

Retention of data during passport / national id card scan is a popular FOI request. Here is one example: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/information_held_from_passport_s#incoming-1037 "Immigration Officers at the border are obliged to examine all passports at ports of entry and to check them ...

At one time, UKBA would just send the certificate to you in the mail and the process was over. The government decided to create the ceremony to celebrate the importance of becoming British. You "somehow forgot about it completely" and allowed the statutory time to attend the ceremony to elapse. In t...

Your date calculations are correct. However, your NCS will not guarantee your application will be received by UKBA on the next day. If it takes two daqys ( mine did ), you could be throwing away your fee. If you were only gone from the UK for a short period, you should wait until the next period whe...

RLP has no records that can be accessed by UKBA - I absolutely would not mention this on your wife's application. I've had no experience with this organization but they seem to be little different than the dozens of scam companies that do private parking control. In this example, the company decided...

Withdrawing your wife's app would be just crazy! I applied for my citizenship last November. At the time, the average ( based on the small sample of persons belonging to this forum that submitted info to this forum < 1% total apps ) was about 10 weeks. Few complained about waiting times the length y...

For obvious reasons home office do have direct access to the records if they need to check and all these basic checks you are talking about are at their finger tips ... and shouldnt take them more than 20-30 mins really ... Again, bothering UKBA before the time they advise you is definitely counter-productive. Trust me.

Again, it is very ambiguous: "insufficient evidence to bring a case to court does not prevent you refusing the application". If a case doesn't even go to court, clearly you can be refused without being guilty of a crime! Here's an example ( true story ): I was coming to my car one day after work ( p...

From what you explaiend I understand they may not even do the PNC check if there is no evidence to show the applicant may have criminal conviction. If that is correct, what do they mean by evidence? Is it the self declaration on application form? Or maybe I am wrong and they do the check for everyo...

No problem - only trying to clarify something that is constantly misquoted here - UKBA does not and never have used a CRB as the basis for granted citizenship.
