I don't think you should be worried...if it's not a straight forward application 3months is not really a long time. Each case is different...

Re: FLR(FP) and Discretionary Leave to Remain timelines

@AliG123... Depending on the country, you could actually apply for a new passport with a photocopy of the old one. Some embassies have fast track system that can process such an application for a new passport. My advice is check from your embassy what the situation is regarding this. Just to let you...

Re: FLR(FP) and Discretionary Leave to Remain timelines

@Godgives and saady.... I think the risk is, at what time can you apply for set(lr) ? From the information that you've given it does appear you can only qualify for that application from 20th of August. By then you have overstayed 17days; if you apply anytime earlier than this date you will be refus...

Re: FLR(FP) and Discretionary Leave to Remain timelines

@saady...The best thing to do is what you have rightly written in your last paragraph. If you have only 17 days away to qualify for SET (LR) then as u suggested you will need to put in an application within the 28 days lapse period. There are different applications you can make but with what you've...

Re: FLR(FP) and Discretionary Leave to Remain timelines

Hi AliG123, I totally understand why you have made the application in country. The financial threshold for spouse visa is a killer and lots of people have difficulty with it. It's much clearer now regarding your case and I would wish you all the best with your application. I will also add that just ...
