Re: Naturalization

I will try to dig out a link on case worker guidance ( Annex B ) where it says they will normally accept upto 100 days in a year (not just 90 days). With 88 days of absences you are absolutely fine. Also aware you need to count years backward from date of naturalisation application - not calendar ye...

Re: Acceptance of ESOL qualifications for Spouse

Hi Forum, Just an update on my situation. I had spoken to the council and they have informed that the application has sent already, hence they can do very little about it. I spoke to UKVI and explained the situation. They have advised me to write a letter explaining the situation and send the correc...

Re: Acceptance of ESOL qualifications for Spouse

Yes, (looks like you are reading my mind - happened twice now :D ). I took the printout of the ofqual register which says that this qualification meets the requirements.

If you decide to work at NCS, there will be loads of happy and smiling faces

Re: Acceptance of ESOL qualifications for Spouse

Thanks a lot. Yes, I don't mind spending another £150 for the SELT certificate and will book a test on Monday based on what happens on my visit to NCS on Monday. I will still try to request them to send the corrected page and if they don't want to do that I will send it to the mailing address given ...

Re: Acceptance of ESOL qualifications for Spouse

Exactly my thoughts after going thru your previous mail (should have realised earlier). But with the weekend, I will be going to NCS office first thing in the morning and will see if they can replace the paper (I have already printed a new page and filled it exactly as you have suggested. Ticked Q1....

Re: Acceptance of ESOL qualifications for Spouse

Hi Noajthan, Thanks a lot for your reply. I checked using the precise details from the certificate (as below) on Ofqual Qualification Number: 601/5209/6 (for Speaking and Listening) - I think this is the most important one. Qualification Number: 601/5216/3 (for Writing) Both the above qualifications...

Re: Naturalization

Hi Hich, You can be away for 90 days in a year (back calculated from the date your application is received by UK Visas). Total absences in 5 years immediately prior to your application date must not exceed 450 days. However, there will be some discretion due to personal circumstances if you give the...

Acceptance of ESOL qualifications for Spouse

Hi forum members, I am looking for some help to get clarity on Naturalisation application for my wife. (Apologies for length of my query, but thought I will give some background) 1. I was on PBS Tier 1, got ILR (July 2013) and Naturalisation (Nov 2014), UK Passport (Dec 2014) together with my kids. ...

Naturalisation - Requirements for Son over 18

Hello Members, Hope someone can clarify and advice on my situation. I came on PBS Tier 1 in August 2008 (and my wife and two sons) joined me in April 2009. We all got the ILR in July 2013. My elder son was under 18, when we have applied for ILR, hence he was granted the ILR without a need for the LI...

One form for whole family, there are no additional separate forms to be filled for dependants, but you need to complete all relevant sections and details for the family members. I don't think you will need the your initial original approval letter for dependants as it was not asked. Also, you must h...

@ Sujiyo, There are templates on the sticky posts for both employer letter and absence sheet, which you can use (many have used these and successfully obtained the ILR). But I have used the one as given below: Change the PEO address to the one you are applying or take it as To Whom It May Concern ==...

@raholptl - No they have stopped stamping on the passport from last 2 years or so. My last renewal also was a biometric residence permit. ILR is also a biometric residence permit.

Thanks a lot. Myself and my family already got the ILR, but wanted to know if there is any change in what they state on the letter after new test. Though, my son, who will turn to 18 years in a month's time (he already got the ILR) may need to write the LIUK for his Naturalisation application. Hence...

I think the letter mentioned by you should be fine and you will be okay. I understand everyone will be concerned even when their case is straight forward (like me - if you see some of my earlier posts), which is natural. As long as you are not hiding or submitting false information, and meet the req...

I will buy the new LIUK book and ask him to start prepare and finish this as soon as he turns 18 so that this will out of way for his University studies.

I am not sure if it is mandatory as my absences in any single year are less than 180. However, I took it just if they ask and I should able to provide. In fact, these are in the list of originals which UKBA has retained and not returned to me. 1. Previous BRP cards 2. Previous Employer's reference l...

LIUK needed? - Under 18 for ILR but >18 for Naturalisatio

Hi all, I have a unique situation. Just got ILR for me and my famly. My eldest son is 17 now hence LIUK was not required for the ILR which we have got last month (July 2013). However, he will turn 18 years next month and when we apply for Naturalisation next year (July 2014), does he need to pass LI...
