Re: Registration with Overseas Visitors Records Office

Hi venkat76, I got the same letter. Just to be sure, I got the OVRO to give me letter confirming that I don't need to register, they also stamped my passport with the same date as the letter to prove to HO in the future in case they claim that I was required to register. What did premium service cen...

Re: Gap between expiry of old Tier 2 visa and start of new j

Thanks manci.

Will I need to explain this to the officer when asked who my employer is? I will still be working for the current employer when I return as the notice period won't have elapsed.

Re: Gap between expiry of old Tier 2 visa and start of new j

Hi manci, A similar question - I have already received the visa for the new job but the start date on the CoS is in August. I am currently serving my notice period with the current employer until the start date. Can I travel abroad right now given I already have a valid visa (albeit with my future e...

Re: Continuous residence question

Thanks leeloy88. What about the 2 months break? Is that in line with continuous residence?

What justification will I need to provide for that given the employment only started in august?

Continuous residence question

Will appreciate if someone can answer this please. I switched from a Tier 4 to Tier 2 General in June 2013 in-country (for a job starting in August 2013) but then left the UK for 2 months and came back just before the job start in August. When does my Tier 2 continuous residence period start for ILR...

Re: Can you travel on Indian Passport (ILR) expiring in 1 mo

Did you all have any trouble with Air India. I am in a similar situation, the passport expires in 5 months on the day if travel from Delhi to London. Will there be any issue? The air India call centre staff are advising of a 6 month validity requirement but the UK foreign office website advises what...

Thanks so much for your reply. However won't I have to resign from my current job to be able to make a new visa application (i.e. can you have 2 tier 2 visas at the same time? Only when I resign my current employer can cancel my tier 2 and I can apply for the same with my new employer?)

Changing Employers from Tier 2 to Tier 2

I have been employed under tier 2 (switched from tier 4 in September 2012) however I now intend to change to a new job with another employer who is offering tier 2. Will the cooling off period apply here?
