Can i surrender Indian passport by post? Do i need to send any additional docs for it?

Also, both my husband and I have to surrender the passports. Is it possible that my husband can surrender both our passports in person without me going in person? Will any additional docs be needed for this?

First of all, dual citizenship is not allowed by India. So you cannot keep both british and indian passport for the child. You should surrender one of them.
Secondly, if the child has indian passport why do you think he needs visa in india?

I am in the similar situation and i was planning to use british passport to enter uk as uk allows dual citizenship and doesnt bother whether u travelled on any other passport or not. A lot of people have travelled this way successfully and didnt have issues in surrendering or getting oci.. vfs reply...

since u have surrendered the indian pasports they r no longer valid, i believe u need to enter uk pasport details as thats the only valid passport u have.
