Hi, i think your appeal period will noot be counted towards study cap.
And the period mentioned on your cas issued ( study period ) will be counted only towards cap and for which the visa been issued.

I haven`t seen anyone exactly in same situation, but have seen few cases similar to it, where the Cas has been sent after submitting the applications and was succeeded.
