Re: Applying for British Citizenship after ILR and time away from UK

thanks all.

only in the last year, she is been away for two months already and got plans to go abroad soon as well.

so, her absences in last year and 3 years are exactly same, as no travel outside UK for last year.

Re: Applying for British Citizenship after ILR and time away from UK

thanks all for the replies. I myself was ILR->BC, but I was a BC (British Citizen) when she was given ILR, so she is on 3 year route? the thing is I filled out form for her and got up to the stage where it asks for referee, but don't think it asked anywhere for details of time spent outside U.K. am ...

Hi, My wife had ILR which is expiring in Nov 2024. She was contemplating applying for British Citizenship and has delayed till now. Re: naturalisation and time limit on tests

ok, will do that. cheers! one more question, is it ok to apply for naturalisation and go on a holiday abroad right? or is there any rule like only certain number of days can be spent outside? Re: naturalisation and time limit on tests

actually in the nest page, it asks How did you get your results, but it has two options: ceritificate and reference.

I have the certiifcate in which there is a reference number, so which one do I choose?

if I select certificate, it seems I do not have to enter anything.

Re: naturalisation and time limit on tests

I have English test reference, but the application does not seem to ask for it. it only asks for Life in the Uk test reference, which I do not have and searched both my email and hers - can't find it. Re: Is it 180 days or 6months per visit

Hi all, thanks for all your replies. I am not disputing one must adhere to the specification on the visa sticker. But, just trying to understand the legality of it. because, visa rules for visitors mention only 6 months, not days. so the question is, for immigration rules, how many days are in a mon...

Is it 180 days or 6months per visit

Secondly, for the purposes of immigration rules, a month is defined as 30 days. So 6 months is 180 days. Hi Simon, Where does it say so please? because I googled the exact code above and came across this case. https://www.bailii.org/uk/cases/UKUT/IAC/2021/65.html While it seems correct that one sho...

For UK visitor visa, I know one can stay only 6 months in one visit, but is it 6 calendar months or 180 days?

asking because 6 calendar months can be more than 180 days, etc 183.

Re: ILR via via spouse route, how long can spend away from UK

thanks for the reply.

the 'qualifiying' period, is the the period immediately preceding the period when application is made or the period during which she became eligble for Naturalisation (i.e 12 months after ILR was granted)
