Thanks Christophe, I checked this site on Tuesday night and we agreed with you. He stuck to the three years addresses and ticked both self employed and director boxes. Woman at NCS on Wednesday morning didn't mention anything about either of these bits on the form so fingers crossed it is ok.

Any ideas welcome. Husband is applying at NCS on Wednesday morning. He has filled in five years of addresses even though he is applying on the basis of three years residence. Should he stick to three years worth?? We still have no idea which box to tick for employment. He is a company director of tw...

My hubby got his schengen visa for 1 month to go to Spain. Would we be able to go to France for the day with this visa? I must say the Spanish Embassy was a nightmare and the staff were very rude. They kept him waiting for 2 hours in the corridor to collect the visa!! He felt that they could not fi...

A British Citizen can return to the UK with non-EEA family member(s) under EU rules if they have been exercising treaty rights in another EU country for at least 6 months. The surinder singh route. So I agree with Mr Rusty that Isabella11 would qualify for an EEA family permit to come to the UK - ma...

Know exactly what you mean!! It's a real conversation stopper! My husband was wrestled to the floor by security guards at the Greek Embassy when he walked in the door, they said they had spotted his Albanian passport and asked him what he was doing there! The woman at the desk then told him that she...

Naturalisation - question on filling the form

These questions are a bit stupid, just wanted to check. My husband is applying for naturalisation at the end of May following 3 years legal stay in the UK - two years spouse visa, 1 year ILR. On the form pg8 it asks for 5 years addresses, we have lived together since 2004 and before that he was in v...

Just out of interest what country is your husband from? My husband is Albanian and he had a nightmare time at the Greek Embassy in London getting a schengan visa. They did give him a visa valid for about 6 weeks for two trips without having to show any finances, job info, accomodation or flight book...

I'm afraid my opinion isn't quite as hopeful as others ... No where in Liam Byrne's statement does he specifically mention that people who are removed during this time frame can take advantage of the concession. The way the statement is written he is only talking about people leaving the UK voluntar...

You get charged an extortionate amount when you call the automated service to make an appointment at an embassy, all EU embassies have 090 numbers which charge £1 per minute and take about 10 minutes to get through all the blurb and book the appointment (often 60day + wait until the appointment). T...

I would try not to take it personally*, there are a lot of ignorant immigration officials, not least in the UK. I am wondering if there is any way to get long term schengan visa(may be year or two) ? As obvious reasons is to work in any country in Europe at any point of time. As far as I know a Schengan visa does not allow you to work, it is a visitor visa. If you want to work in another EU state you have to...

I suppose the UK is paying the price for waging an unjust war on Serbia The UK didn't 'wage war' on Serbia. Serbia waged war on ethnic minorities in Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo. Nato targetted air strikes on Serbia and Kosovo in 1999, the UN went in to keep the peace. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/worl...

I have to agree with clairey, I am English and married to an Albanian man and, like all countries, they have good and bad characters. Yes the vice in London is run by Albanians but that doesn't mean all the Albanians in London are involved in vice. As always it is a small minority that run the dodgy...

There are two problems with this story: 1) The Home Office will find it very difficult to revoke the British citizenship (whether they obtained it legally or not) of any Kosovan/Albanian who does not also hold Albanian/Serbian or any other citizenship. If they did this it would render the person st...
