Re: ILR postal applications (excluding SET(LR))

Time to share my story now :) This forum helped me a lot and I'm glad I can give something back. Route: Tier 1 G (3+2) Initial Application: March 2010 (in-country switch) Extension: March 2013 (same-day service at Croydon) ILR application submitted on 03.03.2015 (postal) Confirmation letter received...

Re: Re-Tier 1 General: Self Employment Earnings

Thanks for the reply. I agree, I will/should not change the facts. I have shown my earnings from 31st Jan to 30th April and now because I paid my National Insurance at the post office today morning and got the receipt, I need to show another entry in my bank account as Income to confirm that I was ...

Re: Contractor - Earnings to Business Bank account

am a contractor and work under my own Limited Company Structure. I take salary and dividend to show for my earning. My visa is up for renewal in Feb 2014 and I plan to apply in January 2014. I would like to claim earning from 1st Dec 2012 to 30th Nov 2013 for my visa. In the year of 2012, the limit...

That's interesting yet not surprising. They are basically suspecting your friend made up this self-employed income to score enough points together with the (genuine) employed income, and as a result, was less willing to pay tax based on non-existing income. Sending required tax return docs can be st...

UKBA is greedy. You are entitled to old fee and sending your application back is a mistake which UKBA intentionally made, leaving you to re-apply with the new fee. Even if you succeed in arguing with UKBA that old fee is applicable to your previous application, you still need to pay the new fee as y...

Ok here are my thoughts: you could try to contact your previous employers and ask for the letter to indicate the periods you were on paid annual leave ( there are templates in this forum). If they don't respond then you can show the CW (if you are required) that you have tried to contact them - this...

I would like to humbly disagree with the petition proposal - so far there isn't anything to petition for(yes the new rules are in place now but oddly enough there are no effects). It is the CWs who make the decision on our cases ( and most of the time they are very sensible), not the guys who answer...

Tier 1 migrants do no need to provide a letter from their employer regarding the business related absences, as many Tier 1 migrants are self-employed.
I can't see any logic here at all.
Better wait for more cases.

Are your absences either paid annual leave or weekend/bank holiday trips?

What if you are a contractor using an umbrella company with daily rate? I do get holiday pay every month but as I am paid by day, if I get out of the country for holiday. I'm desperately searching for work in London right now to meet my income threshold and I'm wondering if I should just start looking for work abroad instead. I feel so incredibly defeated, after nearly 7 years of living here (4 on Tier 1). Before you do that, you may want to wait until we get more d...

My opinion is absence always means period outside uk. No need for employer letter/no breaking continuous stay if u took leave inside uk- paid or unpaid.

Don't you guys find the response from UKBA worrying as it seems even you are in employment in the UK, as long as you've have a non work related absence from the UK, the continuity is considered to be 'broken'. This is worse than the letter we have get from the employer as majority of us have been o...

What if someone was out of work and have taken holiday? Then you'd have to write a personal letter. I think this will break the continuous stay.
