Re: Renew Residence Card SS Route

I couldn't edit the post so I want to clarify that short absence is absence less than 6 months in my meaning (I know my absence is not 'short')

Thank you.

Re: Renew Residence Card SS Route

Thanks again for insightful info.

Can I ask if there is any difference between 1 long absence in a year and 2 short absences combined over 6 months in a year?

Ex: ---> 1 Jan - 1 Sept
----> 1 Jan - 30 May & 1 Jul - 1 Dec

Thank you

Re: Renew Residence Card SS Route

Hi Thanks for both insights. I previously posted asking question about returning to UK and got info as below: You are the family member of an UK citizen who has worked elsewhere in the EU. So you are covered by the ECJ case of Singh. You have the right to be treated as the spouse of an (non-UK) EU c...

Renew Residence Card SS Route

Hello all, I'd like to get some insights about renewing residence card. I've obtained the residence card though SS route in 2013. (I entered UK before getting RC by about 3 months) 1st year from entering UK, I was absent by about 8.5 months. (with hubby + son) 2nd year, absence was 10.5 months. (wit...

Re: Arriving in UK on EEA2 Residence Card

Update:
I arrived and went through immigration without any problem.

Though the officer was unsure, asking another officer about my RC, all was well. I think she was not sure cuz my husband is British.

Re: Arriving in UK on EEA2 Residence Card

OK, so you there are a couple of issues in play here. You are the family member of an UK citizen who has worked elsewhere in the EU. So you are covered by the ECJ case of Singh. You have the right to be treated as the spouse of an (non-UK) EU citizen now and in the future, so long as you are enteri...

Re: Arriving in UK on EEA2 Residence Card

Where you plan to live in the future is not relevant for this discussion. Will you be travelling together with your husband to the UK? How will you be travelling to the UK? If you want to fly, then I suspect you will be refused entry to the plane unless you have some sort of UK visa. We will be tra...

Re: Arriving in UK on EEA2 Residence Card

Your rights under Sing do not expire. If travelling with your husband you should be admitted on arrival. What passport do you travel on? Many thanks. I'll be travelling on my Thai passport while my husband & son will be travelling on UK ones. We are not intending to reside in UK though as my hu...

Re: Enter UK with RC after absence more than 6 months

Hi, thanks for an advice. I'm a Non-EEA and my husband is British, so is my son. I'll look into the cancellation of the RC rules. What is your nationality? If you are the Non-EEA family Member of an EEA national, and the EEA national is still in, or is accompanying you to the United Kingdom, I would...

Enter UK with RC after absence more than 6 months

Hi,

Im wondering in anyone is absence from uk for more than 6 month and return to uk using residence card? (I got rc through singh route)

I'm not concerned about getting pr but since I still have rc valid until 2017, can I still use it to enter uk?

Or family visit visa is a better way?

Thanks

I've received the COA after that same letter you got.

You should get another letter stating 'Certificate of Application' on it.

EEA 2 - not having NIE

Hi there, I've just got my passport back from British Consulate in Madrid with approved EEA FP. (That's sorted)... As I'm still trying to get my NIE application sorted (and it's likely to be withdrawn since I surely cannot hand in additional document in time). If my NIE is withdrawn, my question (if...

EEA FP while residence card is being withdrawn.

Hi there, The situation is that I've applied for EEA FP on 29th April. On the 3rd May, I received a letter from the residency office in Burgos asking for additional document. If I cannot send them the document in 10 days, my residency number which I already have (NIE) will be withdraw and I have to ...
