I have an apointment for Schengen VISA for france on 19th July, can anybody confirm whether I need to take myh wife with me as I am applying for myself, her and my children. It clearly states that children should not be brought for the VISA appointment, but no clear instruction for Dependent Adults.

What all benefits/tax credits we can claim after getting ILR

Hi guys, I will be getting my ILR (from HSMP) next month. I am working and earning above 30,000, my wife doesn't work and has never worked. We have two children. Now, my question is, what all benefits (not interested in housing benefit) and/or tax credits can we claim, e.g. CTC, WTC, etc. and whethe...

justice_will_reign, Yes, unfdortunately he will have to, as as per the guidelines of HO below: 30. Will my dependants have to meet the requirements? If your dependants are aged 18 or over and under 65, they will also need to meet the requirement, unless they fall into one of the exempt categories. S...

Thanks
Yes, that is what I was advised by HO official on phone. I am not very sure though, so want to hear from someone who has practically done so.

I had recently called HO and was told that the VISA/EC is considered activated on the date we entere this country and 4/5 years' period would be counted from the date of activation of VISA/EC. This clears all the doubts.

Thanks for all your opinions.

When Can I Apply for ILR?

Hi All, as everybody else is doing, if I fail to Congratulate all HSMPians for winning the JR, it shouldn't be good on my part. I entered UK on 15 September 2005 on HSMP, and hence I am covered by the judgment, so can get ILR in 4 years, i.e. this year. My HSMP VISA (EC) was stamped on 26th July 200...

Fortunately, ILR is nearly the same for HSMP as everyone else. You will not have to pass FLR(HSMP) points again, however you will want to have a job and enough funds to support yourself for the next x months. Also, there is a new Britishness test you will need to pass. Once you have an extension th...

I am here in UK on HSMP since Sept 2005, and so does my wife (and we both are Indian citizens). We have got a baby born in August 2006. Now my wife needs to travel to India with the baby, as the baby can not (if he can, do let me know) have British passport, we have to apply for his Indian pasport. ...
