Yes, that is what I was advised by HO official on phone. I am not very sure though, so want to hear from someone who has practically done so.

Had no other option than to apply for FLR for those 6 weeks, if I had not entered in UK before 6th April 2006, I have FLR granted until July 2010... why r u asking this? are you aware of any case?

I had recently called HO and was told that the VISA/EC is considered activated on the date we entere this country and 4/5 years' period would be counted from the date of activation of VISA/EC. This clears all the doubts.

Fortunately, ILR is nearly the same for HSMP as everyone else. You will not have to pass FLR(HSMP) points again, however you will want to have a job and enough funds to support yourself for the next x months.
