Has anybody used postal service to receive OCI in India from Birmingham? I did and it took around 3 weeks, including 2 e-mails and a phone call...and if you read the above from Sheff, it was nearly the same for him...If possible better to go in person... Hope this helps.. I sent my passport on 22nd of August by special delivery which was received by Birmingham consulate on 27th Of August...I am still waiting and have not received back my passport along with OCI? I have heard that they usually hold it for upto 2 months and then they do attempt to contact you before making a decision...not heard of 3 weeks though...If it has arrived in Birmingham why don't you just collect it..you can pick on same day.. Two months :D That's a big relief.... One "intelligent"...

....And today the passports with the OCI booklets have finally arrived... :D from applying on March 12th to receiving them today nearly 4 months journey..Thanks to everybody who gave advice...but I am starting it all again from tomorrow... :( so I will be back to keep you updated... Update on my Passport\OCi fiasco... I rang the embassy on the premium rate number given on the website, picked up by a lady who assured me that the passports are not lost but there is a delay in the process, they have to send them to the commissioner for a final signature before they can be released...

Just got an E-mail from the CGI Birmingham to say they have dispatched the passports today...phew..so fingers crossed the journey should be complete tomorrow or by Fri...and then.....All starts again for wife and kids...oh what fun...
