Re: Working Holiday Maker Extension/Switch

Am I right in assuming the regulations do not allow for extensions to the working holiday maker scheme? That's correct. He can't extend. 2 years and that's it. If not can he switch and apply under a different scheme whilst remaining in the UK - he has expierence as a chief in an indian restaurant. ...

Re: ILR (JR) HSMP extension application now considered for I

It's likely once you converted your application to ILR JR it is now in that queue and the turnaround times for normal ILR JR applications are also applicable to your case.

The good news: many people are now reporting a rather quick turnaround time of 3-5 weeks for ILR JR applications lodged recently.

MrBaboo, why do you think only experienced members, possibly immigration consultants, eligible to comment in rather sarcastic way? I never said that. I didn't detect any sarcasm in Sten's reply. You did and now you seem 100% convinced of it. Perhaps you should re-read and consider there was no sarc...

Applications received after April 6 were asked to submit evidence for last 5 years. It used to be 3 months but not anymore. If you send only 3 months, you are going to get letter asking evidence for 5 years. Internal guidance has changed in last 2 months and they got a new check list. Can you point...

Thanks for the pointers. My situation: WP Jan'05 > HSMP Mar'06 for 2 yers > HSMP extension in Apr'08 for 3 years I do have a concern: the HSMP forum page cited states the following: c. MrBaboo, Thanks for your reply and pointer to the HSMP forum document. Just one more point: I came to the UK in Jan'05 on a WP, then applied and was approved HSMP in March '06. Based on a reading of the relevant documents, it seems I am eligible to apply for ILR now? Again you and I share a similar...

Re: Question on HSMP ILR JR

My HSMP letter is dated 3-Mar-06, although the HSMP stamp in my passport is as of 25-Apr-06. The new 4-year ILR policy for HSMP has a cutoff date of 3-Apr-06. Can someone advise me what this date refers to? HSMP letter date (if yes, then I am covered!) or the date of stamp in passport? Many thanks....

As most of you know the JR in case of HSMP forum and the end result was that the promise of 4yrs should be kept I think you have misunderstood what the JR was about. I understood the JR and it was concerning changes implemented in april 2006 and the one of the most important change was ILR (4 to 5y...

you can be best lawyer of your own case. Gathering documents and presenting them well should not be a problem for a HIGHLY SKILLED MIGRANT i suppose. Those are naturalisation requirements, I believe. ILR is more stringent.
