Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

Date of passport interview appointment: 09/12/2013 Date of passport receipt: 14/01/2014 (passport issue dated 10/01/2014) I thought it takes only 2-3 working days to get your passport after the interview. Do you know why it took over a month? Ps: Apologies if this was discussed under another topic.

No .... way:) You are a UK citizen, they do not have right to reject your application, unless they have strong reasons to believe that you are not who you claim to be...(i.e. trying to get passport using someone else's ID details) If people were punished by spelling mistakes, or by not remembering c...

Travelling with citizenship certificate before UK passport

Dear All, As this topic was discussed a few times I wanted to give example of my recent experience. I received my citizenship at the end of Sept however as I travel frequently and have my temporary work location overseas I never had chance / time to wait for passport application. On my way back to U...

Post Office Send and Check Question

Dear All, Quick question on Send and Check and apologies if the answer was covered somewhere else before. I am currently out of the country and cannot physically check post office, I couldn't see any online form or booking option for the post office. Do I need to go to post office, pick-up an applic...

... How can it be faster? They do nothing apart from putting everything in a plastic envelope and send it to HMPO. Most PO's wait 2-3 days so they have a few applications together to send. It is safer, cheaper and quicker sending the application by special delivery straight to HMPO. That's what I t...

Re: Secure delivery vs. second class

Dear Karnavati, Many thanks for your prompt reply. One more question, for the below. Do they "post" the special delivery envelopes through the mailbox or do they still require signature? If the former perfect, as long as it's through my door I don't care about the signature proof. Another option is ...

Secure delivery vs. second class

Dear All, Apologies for posting on the timeline, the topic was recently discussed here and it is really crucial for my travel plans. Trying to decide between second class port vs. secure delivery. During the day I am at work, however my house has a postbox that courriers can just post envelopes. If ...

Re: Update

It is the date from your application. NCS specifically asked me if I were in the country on 17-18 May 2008. Sorry if it was addressed already. If I apply through NCS on 17th May 2013 and Home office gets the application on 23rd of May 2013 and debit my fees on 23rd May 2013. Do they consider me to b...

Re: Update

Not sure, the absences are the reason for the 4 months delay. I think it's got to do with the printer problems. My decision was made on 24th July (c. 9 weeks after my application), but I only received the approval letter last week, after chasing them 3 times via e-mail. I have the same cause. I had ...

Re: Update

Re: Same date

Same here, 17th May application. There was a trail of messages for 17th May applicants...what's up with our luck? I really do not know if its coincident with dates being progressed. I have applied on 17th May 2013 through NCS and I have got the ack letter dated 23rd May 2013. My application is still...

Re: May application

Same for me still waiting. I am Turkish by the way (people keep asking about nationalities). Obtained my ILR for 5yrs continous employment. Have a bit higher than allowed absences due to my travel (work for an int'l bank). Both my past 5 years and 12 months are in excess of allowed limits (c. 500 an...
