HSMP (Tier 1) extension under JR

Hi, I have a quick question. I am in 1+3 category and I need to apply for extension (2dn extension to complete 5 years) in a few days. As, I have initially received my HSMP visa in Janurary 2005, so I qualify to apply under old rules (under JR). I have nearly collected all the documents, but unfortu...

Bharath, I had the following factors while choosing UK Vs. US: 1) UK is closer to my Home country 2) It is easier to get PR/Citizenship in UK compared to US. (However, with ever changing UK immigration rules, I will probably not bet my life on it!!) 3) Dependent spouse has same employment rights as ...

Ashish, In your case, 3 months notice with your currnt job will surely NOT work out if you want to move to contracting. There are few contracts wait for 4 weeks (1 month notice). So, 3 months is clearly ruled out. For you options are: 1) Try to find out if the notice period is negotiable. Usually 3 ...

Maninder, Here's what I have done. I came to UK 3 years ago. I worked as a permanant employee with £46K + £4k (benefits which can be taken in cash) as salary. I quit a year ago. When I left my permanant job, my salary was £67K (I got a promotion and a big raise) Since then I am contracting. My wi...

Also, do not forget to get all the necessary documents (Your son's Birth Certificate, Your Bank Stmts, Utility Bill, Payslips etc.) with you when you go to India so...

I agree with LankanFunkin. "High Skilled" migrants should be able to live up to the name. 1 Year initial visa used to be a problem when HSMP was relataively new and most of the Employers/Recruitment agencies hadn't heard about it. But, as of today many employers/agencies are well aware of HSMP and i...

Meer, When I applied in 2004, I managed to get bank statements for 12 months from ABN AMRO for which they charged me INR 50/-. The statememts were on their original letterhead (same as their monthly standard statements). I am sure you will get the same. Speak to them again. All the best.

Rajeev, Once your HSMP application is approved, you can use the FLR form to apply for visa for yourself and any of your dependents (spouse and children). You need to provide you marriage certificates and birth certificates (for your child/children, if any) along with other documents. Hope this helps.

I sympathise with those who are unable to qualify under the new rules. I am sure most of these people are well qualified and highly skilled. ATBPLC, Thanks for the update. Where did you get this information from? I was just trying to make sense of what The Home Secretary is saying. From the first 2 Q&As, sounds like the new rules will not applied retrospectively. Does that mean "1+3" catergory does not need to apply for another 1 year ex...

Umeshsethi, You are right. Caseworkers, if they wish, they verify your income details from SARAL. But, as you can guess, they will mostly likely not. So, I would suggest NOT to risk your application by sending SARAL. Instead, can you ask your Employer to issue a Salary Certificate, stating your gros...

I think one has to enter the UK within 3 months from the date of stamping (of the HSMP visa) So, as long as you stick to this, you will be fine. As far the consistency of the answers at the Immigration, I dont think you will even be asked to give any explanation. If you do, you can honestly explain ...
