Re: NARIC certificate not required if PBS recognises degree

Hi All, I am trying to understand whether degree certificate and printout from Points Based Calculator are enough for proving knowledge of English language for Naturalisation application. Having read through this thread entirely I understand there is mixed feedback. Some say that printout is enough...

Re: Surrendring Indian passport

Hi Call2Bala, There is a three month grace period from the date on the naturalisation certificate where you're allowed to travel using Indian passport. Bear in mind that you have to return to the UK within 3 months as well. Does your baby have visa for UK? If not using Indian passport may not be pos...

Re: Surrendring Indian passport

Hi Call2Bala,

It's 3 years from the date on naturalisation certificate and not date of issue on the passport.

However you would need to do it sooner if you need an Indian tourist visa, PIO / OCI as the surrender certificate is a mandatory document required.

Re: Surrendring Indian passport

Hi ssingh6 You definitely shouldn't renew Indian passport after acquiring foreign nationality. The date on the naturalisation certificate is considered to be the date you acquired foreign nationality. The Indian Citizenship Act, 1955, does not allow dual citizenship. Holding Indian passport/acquirin...

Re: Surrendring Indian passport

Hi Suji, I have enquired previously about this very same question. The answer is No. Self attested photocopy of the current British / Foreign Passport (Only the photo page) is necessary to surrender Indian passport. Hence it can only be done once you have received your British Passport. Surrender ce...

No absence letter from employer

The employers have said that they cannot provide absence letter showing the days of leave. Is this okay? What other documents can be submitted as an alternative?

The application for ILR is on the basis of 5 years on Tier-1 General.

However here are a few queries. 1. He did not start working until end of March 2009. Will these initial few m...
