Life in the UK test

Hi, I passed Life in the UK test in April 2013 before it was upgraded in September 2013. I got my PR one month ago and I'm going to apply for naturalization in September 2015. Will my Life in UK test be still valid or I will have to re-sit the exam? Also, I have a PhD degree from University of Manch...

Re: PR appeal won, 3 months have passed and no PR!

Do you think it would be a good idea to send an email complaining about this to: complaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk? Don't think it can do any harm. Re: payment queries, you could try to contact these numbers for the payment section in Liverpool: 0151-2134566/0151-2134568 (one is right and the other ...

Re: Appeal Allowed 3 Months Ago -No RC

Hi Our appeal was allowed on the 15th Feb 2013 by the tribunal and fee award was given which has been credited back into my account however, the RC has not been sent YET! Got really frustrated and made several phone calls to European Enquries Centre but no help at all. My passport was already retai...

Re: PR appeal won, 3 months have passed and no PR!

behold2014 wrote:why was ur pr refused and why are u expecting fees from court?
It was refused due to lack of CSI and insufficient number of transancions/balance on the bank account.
Judge ruled court fee award in my favour, UKBA has to refund it -not court.

PR appeal won, 3 months have passed and no PR!

Hi everybody, It has been some time since I posted here so will give some follow-up on my PR case although there was no much progress. Brief recap-I won my appeal on 21Jan 2014, then HO applied for permission to appeal but was refused by FTT on 12 Feb 2014 and did not attempt further appeal. Since t...

Re: Unsuccessful PR application

Contact UKBA and ask them to comply with the judgement. Unfortunately this "hurray!" didn't last long. Today I was blown by the letter from 1st tier tribunal that Home Secretary applied for permission to appeal. It was a shock especially that during my appeal hearing HO representative didn't ask me...

Re:

Most times, the judge will want to make a decision on the same day unless there is any further disagreements which need clarified. If not, you will receive the decision via post after a maximum of "14 days" (not actual but from experience). Hi Davmck70, Hurray! We have got the decission letters in ...

Re: 3 years battle with HO paid off

Sorry if I seem to be a little impatient but I didn't mean to upset anybody. I'm still learning how this forum works. I don't feel I ask the same questions in every thread, I'm just trying to exchange my experiences with others and learn something more to understand and deal with my own case and as ...

Re: WRS for A8

Thanks for your expertise. I know about the CSI situation because it's exactly my case! I applied for PR and was refused. First of the reasons was lack of CSI. However, HO failed to take under consideration the fact that I was a student at that time and I presented them with registration certificate...

Re: 3 years battle with HO paid off

Thank you so much sha_80, that is really helpful! Reading your post I realized that it is the HO representative who ask you the questions and runs the investigation, is that correct? And what is the role of the judge, just listen and make a decision at the end? Thanks again sha_80 for sharing your e...

WRS for A8

Hi, I'm EU citizen living in the UK since May 2004. Between May 2004 and Oct 2010 I was a student.
From Oct 2011 until now I'm in full-time employment.
Question: should I have registered with WRS when I started working?
Could anybody direct me to relevant WRS regulations and amendments pls?

Grazia, I would suppose you have chosen the Oral hearing instead of paper. You have enough time between now and hearing date to prepare. My advice would be to use the website below to check which hearing is close to you and you can witness one to have an understanding of the way it works. Its a ver...

I can see the logic if a person is applying for Residence Card. The point is to ensure that a person is self sufficient. In 2005-2006, OP will be required to show that she had sufficient resource not to be a burden on the UK resources. Simoly showing a medical insurance does not fulfil this require...
