Re: First UK passport application. Unclear what documents they want?

You have to only submit the current foreign passport. Any expired passport that she used to enter the UK does not need to be submitted. She will be without a travel document during this duration so I won't make any travel plans. Thanks. Although would you agree the language they use is ambiguous. I...

First UK passport application. Unclear what documents they want?

Why is nothing ever clear from the UK Immigration authorities. My Brazilian wife is applying for her first British passport since becoming a naturalized British Citizen. Can anybody clarify what precisely the passport office are asking for here. They're asking for 3 things. 1. Naturalisation or regi...

Re: I need some Visa advice!

EEA Family members rights derive from the EU regulations providing they continue to meet the requirements, ie dependent on their EU sponsor.. A Residence Card is not mandatory either. A Residence Card is not a 'visa'. OK so I'm extrapolating from this that she, as an Indian Citizen, with a 5 year r...

Re: I need some Visa advice!

If I recall, she can set the ball rolling now, before her current residency permit expires (I think you can start this process 3 months in advance of the expiry, is that correct?) EEA family members require the full 5 years residence before they can apply for PR or settled status, if this is what y...

Re: Uploading documents via UKVCAS

Put the SELT and LITUK both in 'Educational'

Put a cover letter in 'Other' (I don't think this is mandatory so there's no category for it).

Hope that helps.

As far as I understand yes. She's still employed. So as long as she fulfils the requirements of what a 'professional person' is then it's fine. This is the list that often gets used: https://www.gov.im/media/624353/listofreferees.pdf Your friend may possibly be "Councillor: local or county" or "Loca...

Re: New UKVCAS service Document Question

You don't get any confirmation when you leave the UKVCAS centre. All they do is take biometrics, and scan anything which hasn't been already scanned beforehand. If you already scanned everything, then there'd have been no need for them to scan anything else. They don't keep any original documents. ...

Re: first referee Citizenship

People tend to go by this list a lot when it comes to acceptable professions: https://www.gov.im/media/624353/listofreferees.pdf The most broad ranging one which I can see is 'Manager of a VAT registered company' - which to my understanding means if you hold any managerial capacity in any company wh...

Re: Document uploading need urgent help pls

Scan every page, including the front and inside covers, and the blank pages. My wife had three passports. One of which is so new it hasn't even been used, but we still had to scan every single blank page. It's tedious, but just do it. You don't want to risk a delayed application. Do as one multi-pag...

Re: New UKVCAS service Document Question

Also about them not being bothered about the supporting documents... It's not their job to advise on anything regarding what you submit to scan. So (unhelpfully) they don't advise you on anything. When I took a batch of what was probably way too many supporting documents, I asked them if they wanted...

You can travel anytime. The main benefit of UKVCAS is not having to surrender your passport anymore.

Re: Wrong Referees

Hi skyscraper, good to know that I am not the only one confused. I used the same manager for my daughter first passport but I am not sure if here they are more strict. Also I am surprised that in the only form they ask for 2 referees , and then they ask you to get the picture signed by 2 referees. ...

Re: Wrong Referees

"director, manager or personnel officer of a VAT registered company ". This confuses me too. Because manager of a company isn't always the owner/CEO. So the implication is any manager of a VAT registered company should be OK. There could need be several managers of a company, as there are several di...

Useful usually to state an important fact such as this to put your post in perspective to avoid members panicking who have not submitted loads of documents. Well noted. It wasn't my intention to panic anyone. My post was really more about pointing out how the UKVCAS will not offer any guidance on h...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I went to UKVCAS Croydon and I took pretty much every available document there. Even ones I'd already scanned, but also months of phone bills, council tax statements, water, electric, tenancy etc etc. All for residence proof. Many of which had been used for the previous ILR application, just for sa...

Is anyone else who has already had an appointment still able to access the UKVCAS site to upload documents?

Our appointment was on 20th Dec 2018, but we're still able to log in as of 4 Jan 2019. Just checking if its the same for everyone.
