It would be ideal if HO and UKVCAS would release a basic workflow of their processes for transparency and clarity. We are paying thousands of pounds for this 'service' after all. I suppose they would have to provide a consistent service if they did so I won't hold out for that!
Hahaha - best joke I've heard all day! What next - you'd want their Service Level Agreement made official and ability to get rebates for when they fail achieve them?Thanks for your input.

I am booked for an enhanced service.
a) I have uploaded all of my documents but am not sure whether to press Submit now or wait for the docs to be checked and have the service provider do this.
b) My visa expires the day before my appointment. It's not clear whether submitting the documents now will have any bearing on whether my application will move any faster, e.g. will my application will be reviewed in the backend now or will it only be reviewed once biometrics and documents are submitted?
b) your application date is your application form submission date - assume your have already submitted your application form, you’re fine.

I think this is a wise approach. I applied on 6th May and I will also wait for the release of IDV app, since I understand there are no restrictions on travel at any stage of the process until obtaining British passport. There are massive delays at Home Office for sending ceremony invitation letters and certificates to councils. Also, there are massive delays for attending a ceremony and getting a BP eventually.
I would assume, even if the ones who opt in for IDV, might be at a disadvantage at the early stage (approval stage), possibly they will not loose out in the race till eventually getting a British Passport (last stage).
So, given there are no restrictions for travel and no rush to gain BC, I have finally decided to OPT-IN for IDV app.
Also, I would like to experience a new technology offered by HO first hand
Lets see what is destined for us lot opting for IDV!
That is not good news for me since I applied a few days ago. Do you know if this process applies only to free appointments? What about the premium service in London that you can book on the weekends and out of hours for £275? Making progress
We’re doing everything we can to offer as many appointments to as many people as possible. From Monday 22nd June 2020 onwards, we’ll be releasing more appointments, adding new service points and opening the booking system to more customers in phases based on registration dates.
Taking a phased and organised approach
In order to be fair to everyone, we are now opening up the booking system in date order starting with people who registered with UKVCAS before the 27th March but did not have an appointment. We are working from the earliest to the most recent registrations as we think this is the fairest and best approach to take. If you are one of these customers, you will have an email from us on the 21st or 22nd of June asking you to book an appointment. The email will have full instructions about next actions.
