Thank you. I looked at the document and could not even find anything about 90 days? Did they relax this rule? Why I wanted to ask for confirmation about maximum days is because I'm worried I might be missing something. Now it looks like you can even go for more than 90 days as long as it is no more ...

10 years long stay, maximum days outside UK in one trip?

Hello Me and my wife will apply for ILR based on 10 years stay next year. We rarely travel outside the UK, so we have no problems with it (We went outside the UK for about 2 weeks per year on average). But we want to travel to USA this autumn and this is such a huge country, so we want to go there f...

Re: nearly everyone in the same boat

So, you are not alone. I'm also completing my 10 years and I had to go through so many difficulties. At the end I'm thinking was it worth? Certainly, if you want to visit commonwealth countries then it is fine. However, I'm interested only in EU as I'm from continent. Paying full fees for 10 years,...

I was worried sick myself, when I was waiting for my 10th year, it is finally here, it creeps on me, I was shocked, anyway, I am just waiting to find out if my application will be successful as I have applied since Feb..... I am sure your 10th year will arrive before you realise it. Good luck to al...

Well, what can I say? GREAT ANSWERS FOLKS! About feelings if it was worth it. I am sure it is worth it. Look at world history. Yes, Britain sucks sometimes, but overall it is much better. And if you feel you're loosing something, just go ahead and do whatever you think is important as soon as you gr...

9 years lived, 1 year left, feeling slightly frustrated

Hi all dear forum members I know some of you are wise, some of you are slightly crazy like myself but I want to share with you some of my experience anyway. I lived in UK for 9 years legal stay now, well, 8 years and 11 months. So I will be eligible for ILR in 1 year time. Now I feel slightly frustr...

Well, I did not want to put her off, just try to share some experience and maybe help focus a bit more.

What about you, are you here on 10 years route as well? :)

First, I don't think you're crazy. I also try to plan ahead. But I think to plan about 10 years legal stay by 2023 is a long shot. I think there is 50% possibility it will be removed by then. I myself came to UK 9 years ago. If I were from USA, I would not live in UK for 11 years to get citizenship....

What is the problem if this is real marriage? Is 5 years too long to live together? Most other immigration categories take at least 5 years. I don't understand why it was 2 years in the first place. With such rules you could marry dozens of time, make a small business enterprise...

UKBA will overlook an out of time application if it is made within 10 days of visa expiry.
It will probably overlook but I don't think it is 100% guaranteed to be overlooked immediately. So save all your documents, etc. so that you could show them in the future when you apply for ILR.

My question is can I go on apply for ILR? Is it really an automatic thing? I've never been in trouble with the law. In case it might help the case, I should mention that apart from me being a minor when I came here, I've only been out of the country about 4 times so far, my sisters (3) all live her...

Well if there are no changes made to the Immigration rules then you may have a chance to apply for ILR using the 10 year long residency rule, however the Govt is eyeing this scheme and will take measures to make things difficult, so just wait and watch. bobobo, when you make such claims, please pro...

I was self-employed already, do I need to register company?

Hi I recently got Entrepreneur visa. I was already registered as self-employed for several years. It's enough for me to run business. I wonder, do I need to register Ltd company within 6 months or somehow re-register as self-employed? Or is it enough that I was registered already and I don't need to...

I have spoken to solicitor who was advised us to apply for a civil partnership which we have done but i don't know what will happen next. I'm aware that this could take years and really the only option he has is to go back to his country and re-apply to come back to the UK but i'm scared they won't...
