Your husband doesn't need a visa to Ireland and all Schengen countries for that matter. See this.

The directive you quoted does not apply to Ireland but Schengen nations.

There are no proposed changes to KOL test, as far as things stand. Although, one cannot guarantee whether or not there would be a proposal to change this in the not too distant future.

There are no requirements that you have to have ILR in order to qualify.

Also see this. Although i will not be surprise if some Local Authorities adopt such measures.

It is mortgage applications that usually attract, requirement of evidence of Resident Status in the UK.

If you overstayed, and went voluntary without government aid or forced removal, you could only be barred for a month or 28days from applying, which is not a substantial period anyway.

It is a completely despicable act, and gross professional misconduct.

The matter should be reported to the Law society/ OISC, and hopefully this solicitor will be struck off and cease from these repugnant act.
