Thanks Lesley, found on the net that on arrival in the Uk, they do a medical i.e chest x-ray - so if your husband wants to save a bit of time, might be a good idea to get one done before hand and carry the certifacte with him.

I'm sure there was a small transitional period when the Visa age limit was lifted from 16 to 18. Not 100% sure though.

It can take upto 3 months, but depends on how complicated or uncomplicated your case is. In Chennai, it currently takes 10-15 working days including the medical examination. I would have passed on an email address for the new delhi office, but there site is currently down. You are cutting it way too...

You can only apply for the Spouse Visa 3 months before your intended travel date to the UK, and you have to enter the Uk within 28 days of the start date of the Visa.
