Re: Referee Declaration

Thank you for this link - much appreciated! I have a further question please: I have a drink driving conviction in June 2018 for which I was handed a non-custodial sentence, which I am declaring as part of my naturalisation application. However, I have below concerns: - Will my application be refus...

Re: documents checklist to submit before the biometric apppointments on the UKVCAS website

Not familiar as to how you get to those messages: Normally you provide the following document scans: - Passport - Settled Status approval/ref number - Documents supporting residency - such as P60s or Council Tax bills per year - English Test - Life in the UK - Referee declarations So whatever the me...

Re: Referee Declaration

You should have been able to print the forms once you submitted your application.
You could use this one - they haven't changed as far as I know: https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... on_MN1.pdf

Re: Naturalisation document (cert of birth)

Certificate should have been returned together with your foreign passport ....
Contact the HMPO Helpline: https://www.gov.uk/passport-advice-line
Make sure you explain this as highest priority - the certificate is the only document that confers British citizenship.

Re: 90 day absence question

Hi all I got ILR in April last year and would like to apply for citizenship in April this year. Two questions on day count - grateful for any advice you can give!: 1. I came back from a trip to Spain a few weeks ago. My plane landed at Stansted at 11:30pm on Sunday evening but I didn't get through ...

Re: Registration of Child born before ILR

a) just select yes - a caseworker will know that child hasn't turned five yet.
b) child's current nationality is Mexican through parent? It's not about the nationality to be acquired.

Re: Few questions regarding British citizenship application

Hi, I have few questions regarding British citizenship application. I am a non-EU and have a EU- settled status in UK since 2019. 1) I was working until December 2021 then started to claim Universal credit due to change of career. Currently, I am enrolled in a training course which will help to get...

Re: Nationality of child born in the Uk

Adults are naturalised.
Children are registered - presumably child was born before you got ILR.

Re: Vitals Questions on Naturalization/British Citizenship.

For naturalisation you are always required to have the biometric appointment, even if you had them taken three months earlier, it's the case for all applications. There's no discretion. As far as I know.

Re: Vitals Questions on Naturalization/British Citizenship.

Thank you very much alterhase58 and other gurus. I have a few couple of questions and I am combining them here. 1. If an application is previously withdrawn, are we still expected to include it in the section that asks for “Previous application details” in naturalisation application? Not sure but i...

Re: Absence 60 Days during Pandemic

Your original post suggested those were the only absences so my initial comment was based on that.... However, you appear to be still below the maximum allowed. As I said you don't have to justify your absences, unless you are over the limit and absences can be any length. Do your best to work out y...

No issue. And no need to justify your absences ....
You are well within the limits for absences - yours are actually quite low.

Re: Travelling to Germany for work (filming) my son

Can't comment on the specifics of working in the EU. I assume a Hong Kong citizen doesn't need a visa to enter the UK? If one is required the airline will want to see a valid visa or BRP residency card, otherwise boarding will be refused. If HK traveller doesn't need a visa take a copy of son's Brit...

Re: Can i apply for naturalisation with a different id

Valid Photo ID may not be required for the application itself (though an explanation will have to be given) as your biometrics will be taken at the appointment with UKVCAS - but you have to prove your identity to the UKBCAS agent (note they are not UKVI caseworkers). For most people that's a passpor...

Re: A Little bit confused - Uploading documents before appointment

Do you have a UKVCAS login ID/password?
You can upload documents for free yourself, not sure what the systems issue is.
The scanning service needs to be booked with your appointment I believe.

Re: Can i apply for naturalisation with a different id

What do you travel with? Do you have a Travel Document issued by the Home Office?
The BRP is an ID but what do you as an ID now? I think the application will ask whether you have a passport.

People sometimes do loose their ID or passports inbetween taking tests and the application!
It is not an issue, just use your passport and your letter confirming ILR.
