You are a resident and visa holder and your passport has to be valid on entry to the UK.

Where are you travelling to? Have you checked whether that country accepts a travel document?

BRP card is not a travel document and carriers would not allow you to board without a valid passport (irrespective of your UK status), not even when exiting the UK. So can't travel as far as I know.
