Re: Utility bills, tenancy agreements and council tax bills will NOT be accepted as proof of residency

Might be good idea for UKVI to update their guidance with what is not acceptable.
Council Tax to my mind is a local tax bill raised by local government, rather than a household bill like gas or phone.
I still see people saying they used council tax bills without issues.

Re: Can British citizenship application be made only for child and parents remain on ILR?

If one or both parents have ILR child can register as British.
It doesn't matter that parents are not applying.

For peace of mind write a covering note explaining. Caseworker will see you are proactive. I wouldn't expect this being a reason for refusal.

Re: citizenship queries - residency

sorry for bumping this again but please can someone help me. will the gap of 6 months in renewing my passport have any affect in my application? do i need to provide any new evidence during this time? I doubt six months gap is an issue. Caseworkers know that passport renewals in general can take a ...

Council tax bills are official documents and used regularly. Certainly utility bills are not accepted.

Re: Outside UK born child registration

If the father was British at the time of child's birth then child will be a British citizen by birth. No need for registration, child can apply for a British passport: https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports Presumably child and parents are in PK - apply online and the system will tell you what is req...

Unfortunately you are not alone .... See this thread: https://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/have-been-waiting-for-more-than-6-months-t344580.html There are other threads. In itself the delays are not a sign of complication - suspect they are just behind with processing - nobody ever ...

Re: citizenship queries - residency

Correct - passport only.
If you renewed your passport during the period you scan the old one and the new one. It's not a requirement to have just one passport as proof.
And yes, B1 English is fine.

Re: citizenship queries - residency

As a UK ILR holder your passpor(s) with stamps covering the residency period are sufficient.
P60, Council Tax bills, etc not required - those are used by EU citizens whose passports didn't get stamped.

Re: Document evidence for 5 years residency

I'm an EU citizen. Unfortunately, I only have three P60's. Do you think that'll be a problem? You are asked to prove residency by way of official type documents .... Have you got council tax bills for the missing years? Those will be also be ok. There are also suggestions that the employment record...

Re: Document evidence for 5 years residency

Are you an EU citizen or EU family member? Then council tax bills or P60 are fine, one for each year (only one type is needed) - monthly payslips are not required. You don't need to send tons of documents. If you hold UK ILR then generally your passport with stamps covering the residency period is s...

Note, naturalisation is not an immigration application and is not governed by immigration rules.
Your immigration status is in place until you become British, BRP application is totally separate.

Re: 5 years evidence of living in UK - question about documention

Hi there, I am currently applying for BC; I have settled status as a family member of an EEA (ROI) citizen. The Settled Status BRP was issued in 2021; I held an EEA PR before this - which was sent back when the settled status brp was issued. My questions are regarding the requirement to prove I hav...

Thanks both. On question 1, there seems to be a contradiction. Shall I go with option 1 then.
#1 is fine (never seen a complaint about that), the child is the applicant (all questions are worded to that effect) - second otions is for professional advisers.

Q1. But the child is the applicant so it’s option 1 as far as I know. Option 2 is normally for using a solicitor.

Cousin needs to wait 12 months from date of ILR grant before applying for naturalisation. If married to British citizen then can apply immediately,
Subject to all requirements being met.

No need to complicate, just mention the first country, count the days excluding UK outbound/inbound. What is important is your absences, not where you went.

GPs have been removed from this list 10+ years ago so they can concentrate on their NHS duties.
If you have a friend who is a Doctor (even GP) and who signs as friend that should be fine - best to attach a note spelling this out.

You can still apply online.
You send your original documents and photos to HMPO. It’s not a totally paperless application.

Purely postal application are likely to take longer as there’s more handling of paper involved for digitising.
