Re: ILR BRP impounded at Heathrow two and a half years after naturalisation

The guidance booklet clearly says the BRP has to be surrendered on obtaining UK nationality and in fact you are charged a fine if not done so within a specific period. Unfortunately you did not read the fine print and nobody noticed it when you travelled in and out earlier. As has already been stat...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

Having applied at the beginning of October, I was not expecting an answer any time soon but a few people with my circumstances have already been approved. Hoping to get something soon but still showing up as 'Awaiting decision' online. Pretty disappointing in my case if like you say, people applyin...

lack of consistency Something that is bound to occur when the input (the applications and documentation) itself is inconsistent. One application may be that of a non-EEA applicant who has been salaried and goes through smoothly, another may be that of a non-EEA citizen married to a British citizen,...

Re: Strange citizenship application

You have to pay ceremony fee of the type you choose ... The £80 you paid with the application fee is for the certificate and not for ceremony. And the certificate will be sent to your council.

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

And a couple of conclusions out of these statistics: - despite removal of last updated date from online checker - it looks like it is being updated at least once every working day - they are processing applications and pushing updates to the online checker - they are not in 100% sync as there were ...

Re: HMPO questions Naturalisation Status withdraws passport

You made this complicated really. You should have applied for british passport as soon as you were naturalised when you intended to leave the country for that long. The UKVI will sense fraud in your case as you did not handover your Indian passport affter you were naturalised. I am sure you travelle...

Re: Refusal of citizenship due to parking fines

Yes, on the advice of HO Rubbish advice from HO/NCS. My friend please repackage your application and go to another NCS. Just declare the FPN and not the parking fine. As long as you paid the parking fine on time. But I am a bit amazed why they issued you FPN for bus lane instead of PCN. Are you sur...

Re: Refusal of citizenship due to parking fines

Both fines were paid immediately and there were no other objections to my application. Is this a legal ground for refusal and how Can I app...

Re: Royal Mail failed to deliver approval letter from HO

If you have received an invitation from the Council, can you not just book the ceremony with them? They want the ref number from the approval letter. May be the people that have received their letters can help with this. HO ref will be the case ID I am assuming!. Those numbers that start with '2'.

Have a day or two off, drive down there and get your certificate. :) otherwise, phone them and seek advice.
Please just do it this way. Take it as going on a holiday or going for an important interview. If you try to change it with HO, you might end up doing the ceremony in 2027 :)

What you can do is let the child sit over your neck and holding his/her hands. Enter the booth and all you need to do is kneel down or squart for him/her to level up with the camera. That is what my cousin did for his 21 months old son. If you expect him to be in the booth by himsefl/herself, it won...

You see! That confirmed what I said earlier. Laziness on the part of the case worker. Isn't triggeriing passport issuance part of the checklist they use in determining peoples' application? They forgot indeed! Only God knows how many people they have forgotten to treat their applications. Welldone m...

Re: Child's Passport application going through standard checks

Why kind of checks? Obviously- they need to check ID, that the person making the application is the same person as the person referred to on the documents. They need to verify that the applicant is a British citizen, or British national, as the case may be. There are other checks which vary case by...

Re: Good Character Req for UK Naturalisation Application.

Declare your CCJ and the FPN for driving without licence. These 2 records are there in your name. Not declaring them will have negative effect on your application. If you pay the parking fines on time and there is no enforcement involved, you dont need to worry your head about them. Yes, you can app...
