Re: Courier service for BRP delivery London

For others in similar position, BRP was delivered today. No hassles. The delivery driver was aware this was a Home Office document and was very diligent. Instead of signature, he took pictures of my front door. I am not sure if he had my cell number. He buzzed into the area using the intercom.

Courier service for BRP delivery London

Can anyone please tell me what courier service HO is using these days to deliver BRPs in the London area? I live in a gated community where entry is a pain to figure out for most delivery drivers especially these days when the management office is shut. Is it signed delivery? Does HO provide deliver...

This is news to me. Please elaborate

Re: Irony about family visa in the new points based system announced today

"A little knowledge is a dangerous thing." Haha, this is getting personal, mate I am just a humble medic not a lawyer! its really common sense - you dont need a law degree here. Double jeopardy has been around for hundreds of years. Yes there was an amendment in 2003 to account for very serious case...

Re: Irony about family visa in the new points based system announced today

Also, Article 8 of the Human Rights Act protects family life. This has been used on many occasions to successfully sue councils. So according to this you have a right to maintain your stable relationship. The case of fees is different from that of minimum income threshold which one can argue is for ...

Re: Irony about family visa in the new points based system announced today

Well, most British sponsors pay from joint family finances. There is an inherent assumption in the application that bills ought to be joint, bank statements too - so clearly the HO is looking at the sponsor and applicant as a joint entity. The sponsor is clearly contributing to the high fees. Also, ...

Re: Irony about family visa in the new points based system announced today

Family based visas are different. A tax paying British citizen is the sponsor. Why should a tax paying British citizen who already pays into Home Office budget through his or her taxes be forced to pay twice? That’s unfair. Second, there is an issue of rights. I am certain the high fees are the reas...

Re: Irony about family visa in the new points based system announced today

Can you link to the specific sources/reports that you are referencing? https://migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/resources/briefings/non-eu-family-migration-to-the-uk The Home Office's logic is that immigrants should pay for/support the whole immigration system, including immigration enforcement (Borde...

Re: Irony about family visa in the new points based system announced today

I was looking into some data on this from the Oxford Migratory group. The number of FLRMs and FLRFPs that have been issued in the last 7-8 years have remained steady at around 40,000 per year. We are a minor contributor to the overall migration. I have been on Tier2 too and the hassle and money my U...

Re: FLR M, DOCUMENTS UPLOAD...

My office has a nice canon printer/ scanner that scans and converts into pdf files which you can email to yourself. If you play with the settings, there is an option whereby you can choose maximum compression at 300 dpi. That way you can even scan in colour. Using this method, I scanned every page o...

Re: Sopra steria UKVCAS website not working

I wish that was true. Even the normal times are being charged for. The only free appointment is more than a month and a half away which is absolutely ridiculous. No extra service was provided for - I had to search around for a stool, bring it to a makeshift cabin, sit down, have a photo taken, get m...

Re: Sopra steria UKVCAS website not working

Also, they claim they check your documents before sending and thats why they are charging. That’s a compete lie. They will check mandatory documents which are like only 4. The rest of the stuff - payslip, statements etc - the stuff that really matters won’t be checked at all for correct upload, reso...

Re: Sopra steria UKVCAS website not working

They are so incompetent - when I was giving my biometrics a few days ago, during the appointment, their system crashed. The woman started panicking - “Oh we will have to do it all over again”. Then she called her manager, he told her to shut off her computer and login again. She did that and lo and ...

Re: FLR (M)

Two more questions:

1. Does my wife (sponsor) need to attend this biometrics appointment?

2. While the application is pending, can I apply for a Shengan Visa for Italy based on my current Tier 2?

Thanks

Re: FLR (M)

Thank you so much for all the help. I finally submitted my application and have the Biometric appointment at Croydon Center tomorrow. I have a couple of questions about this appointment. 1. I chose to upload the documents myself on Sopra Steria. Once the pdf file has been uploaded there is no way to...

Re: FLR (M)

Have an urgent question. I finally have my January payslip all stamped and signed. I am struggling with the bank statement format. Re: FLR (M)

Did you scan the bills in color or black and white? Colour scans sizes are above the 6Mb limit. So I am wondering if black and white scans are ok or did you compress colour scans. Also, I havent yet gotten to the upload stage yet, but is the cohabitation pdf one large file or separated into 6 or mor...

Re: FLR (M)

Are online pdfs of bills to demonstrate cohabitation acceptable or is it must to scan the paper copy?

I have noticed that pdfs of most online bills don’t have markings and barcodes on the left side whereas paper bills do. One can easily tell them apart. Would that matter?

Re: FLR (M)

Thank you so much. Really appreciate all the replies. Some more questions 1. There is an option to upload an employment contract (it says it’s optional). Is it ok to upload the contract from 2017? Or does the letter itself have to be recent? 2. There is no option in the online application to upload ...

Re: FLR (M)

Or alternatively electronic and accompanied by a letter confirming authenticity or bearing official stamp. Not sure how open my bank (Santander) will b...
