Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

thanks for the links, I am aware of them anyway. what i am after is this, out of the all links mentioned in the PDF, for B1, which is the easiest going by the experience of others who may have taken it. also cheaper and quicker in terms of getting the result. As I can see all have standard £150 fee ...

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

cheers, I will try to book a test before visa expiry, as it asks for that UER online number which I don't think I will get a chance to amend later. regarding the exam, it can't be taken multiple times at two consecutive days ? just in case f she fails and no need to wait 7 days as with Life in the U...

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

No, she does not have a degree, hence SELT is the only way. looks like no test slots before her visa expires on 15th July. is late applications allowed/advised (think there is a blanket extension due to virus, not sure if it applies to my wife). or can I make the application and send test details la...

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

thanks cr001. so it is the 'level' that is the issue here, is it? not the fact that the same SELT test that was used for an application before can be used. I always thought A2 trumps B1, but do we have an example of previous cases for ILR to be declined just because of this. just worried with her cu...

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

thanks Zimba, the ESOL, I mentioned above is how it was worded in the cert. and it is not the 'old ESOL' taken at a random place. I hv already reviewed the FAQ and online and still unclear. here is why. a) my wife took the exam in an approved center after the SELT rules came into force for FLR(M) in...

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

thanks Zimba. they charge £2.5k for this application and can't correct this simple mistake..:(- anyway, any input on being able to use the same English qualification as above which used for the FLR(M) previously? the thing is this form does not allow to enter 'more details' to provide cover letters ...

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

ok..thanks..thought so, but got confused when the online process asked for how I settled, but to get to SET(M) form, I had to select ' I settled by other way' when in fact I settled via work visa. anyway, while filling the application...it asks if she had used the english language before (she has do...

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

guys In addition to the above, could you confirm, that the application is for wife on 5yr route is SET(M)?

the online checklist - takes me to the flow that says 'I settled on 'another visa' when in fact I settled via Tier 1 - > ILR -> BC. so a bit confused.

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

thanks again Zimba. anything on official TSO app questions being different from the free '15 tests' questions? might be good to put a shout out so that no one else gets caught out, also some answers also do not match. for example, the free apps say the number of commonwealth countries as 53, and the...

BOTH names can be used. Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

Zimba, sorry for the late reply..Coronavirus had not been kind. you may have misunderstood since her old home passport is expired and we do not yet have a new passport! She may not need one as after applying for ILR and subsequently BC, she would get the British Passport. or do you think I need to g...

Re: ILR for wife - 5 yrs route - new or exisitng service

cheers Zimba, this begs the question how I prove 'AAA' is in fact CCCC that I married to and not some body else without any official documentation ? or HO will be sensible enough to see through this ? worried if this all worth the hassle....dont want her ILR to be in jeopardy because of a different ...

guys, I am staring all the paper work for my wife. Re: UK Visitor Visa: Frequency and period of stay

Re: UK Visitor Visa: Frequency and period of stay

i dont think you are getting what I am after.

I am not talking abt a globe trotter. a person with a fixed home abroad with 'multiple entry visitor visa valid for 5 yrs'

so, when next can he enter UK again once they have spent 6 months on the UK already on the same visa and left ?

Re: UK Visitor Visa: Frequency and period of stay

are you sure of this ? coz, from a common sense point of view, I would have thought UK should only be concerned with whether somebody would leave UK or not right ? Whether they go somewhere else or to their home country - why should that matter? I get the point of somebody abusing the 'multiple-entr...
